I was wondering if 2 of these bulbs would work for lighting, if not I am going to go to lowes or home depot and try to find a 150 watt of both a MH and HPS bulb. Would these work for early growing until I get the other bulbs or are they useless?

for the veg you want daylight cfls 5500 or 6500 k around 25-30 watts around 100 watt equivilant , if you really want to go metal halide then go more than 150 watt and cfls are cheaper and work just as good for the veg but get a good hps for flower, unless you just wanna do the whole thing cfl which you could as well

you can get those bulbs in 2 packs at wal-mart for 7 bucks

I just want to grow about 3-5 plants for personal use. I am using a DWC system (10 gallon aquarium) and was just planning on keeping the plants low and bushy. I have 2 ballast that I am using (150 watt each) that are generally used for out door lighting.[FONT=Tahoma, Verdana]

GE Reveal bulbs are no good for growing (but they are great for reading lamps!). MH and HPS bulbs wont work unless you have a proper ballast.
