Well I am interested in the gear, I've enjoyed the smoke, mentioned that several times (reading comprehension fail?). I was kinda expecting people to ya know post their gear. And yes I'm bitching about the price because his excuse is bullshit

Actually I don't agree with most prices. I think the majority are inflated and priced unreasonable, Greenthumb, tga, dj short, sensi, dna and many others.

I guess so. Lol.
But you see where I'm going with the price point? Greenthumb isn't the only one gouging, and if you're going to blame one, blame the others as well with the same prices, that's all. Wasn't trying to troll or sell greenthumb gear or anything like that. Peace.

I know a fellow grower who is flowering some gt stuff now and while I will not blindly shell out that much for a pack (nor did he) I will eventually snag a clone from him and if it impresses me then sure I would drop for a pack or two and look for my own cut.

Prices are steep, but for a breeder that's been around for so long I would have to imagine that he'd be out of business by now if the juice wasn't worth the squeeze, no?

Like I've said before, I'd happily pay $100 a seed for something that would give me a great chance of finding fire, as opposed to paying $100+ a pack for a bunch of F1's that I stand a 1 in 50 chance of finding something equal.

Time is money, and in the whole scheme of things that $200 is a drop in the bucket if you find a gem. I'm going to order some greenthumb gear in the very near future....

Let me know whenever you get around to them and tell me what you think stow.

There will still be a variety of pheno expressions even in S1. I've seen his grows and most look fabulous, yet I've seen some duds just as well. And a $100 for a dud just isn't my thing. I don't think for a second he or anyone else for that matter has a lock down on something no one else is offering. Reasonableness just goes out out the window. Then again, I would not spend hundreds or thousands on a clone. I'd much rather run beans and look for something special. Seems people forget all the strains and clones people chase all came from a bean at some point. I wouldn't mind trying his G13, but not at $100 a bean.

To me the money is secondary to the time and space wasted. I'm never upset that I blew $100 for a pack of seeds ..... I'm upset that I wasted the time and space in my garden for nothing. I get tired of germinating packs of F1's from breeders that release more strains than the bible has verses, only to be left with a mediocre female.

I'm certainly not saying that every greenthumb seed will be a gem, but this guy has been doing this for a long time and I have to believe that he charges what he does for good reason ...... people have great results with his gear. For every negative grow journal you find for his genetics, you will find 20 people that love his stuff. Not too many breeders can say that.

I agree with ya stow, that's why I've got literally hundreds of single fems and regulars which will never be popped. Great genetics pay for themselves, no doubt. All my Bodhi gear has paid for itself multiple times. Probably flowered out Goji (freebie nonetheless) over 9 times. And nothing is worse than wasting time and space on something subpar or worse, throwing pollen where it isn't wanted. Hence why I got the stable gals, and slowly introduce new things. In about a month I'll be flowering out Ace gear, so even if it's sub par (I doubt but I'm not happy with germ rates on China Yunnan, PCK and Bangi (very vigorous btw), it will at a minimum pay for itself even if it's just a one go around. But I always go at least two runs just in case I've made a mistake or give it a second chance.

All I know is I'm getting the ECSD , HEADBAND , and that CHEM x Sour Diesel . I as well will be writing a letter to the man wishing him the very best in his future endeavors wether if it's sitting on a beach or something new . I appreciate the hard work , Dr Greenthumb has attributed over the years to breeding . It's an art . And while most people would like to have a Picasso in their home they cannot afford it or will argue the price on which it's costs . I'll relate that to Greenthumb , and will be buying a couple Picasso"s soon for my garden . . Have a good day guys !

You're right, of course, but you have to remember that many folks don't have that type of discretionary cash, or they have a harpie breathing down their necks for any extra penny they steal from the cookie jar. Fortunately, some damm fine smoke is still out there at bargain prices, so a good strategy might be to run a 4 pack of FS c-99 [$35], market 2/3 of the buds, and use the profit to buy the previously too expensive beans. Problem solved, and lots of sweet pineapple to see 'em through.

That's on my list. I would like to try western winds from sagarmatha (sp?) too. The original kali mist is my favorite smoke before they commercialized it with Indica genetics. Apparently the western winds the real deal

I've looked at that a few times, but I'm put off by the 11 wk FT. Something I find interesting in the description is this: " A favourite amongst Rastas who wish to have a high energy buzz.. Much of the staff at Sagarmatha states that Western Winds is their nug of choice. The effect is all in the head - soaring cerebral high, favourite for those who wish to have a high energy buzz with its relaxing and invigorating qualities."

You may recall a 'discussion' a few weeks back where one of the elitists claimed energy from pot is a noob concept.

So I hear lots of great things about DrGT from people I trust. But, at the same time, I read some of his descriptions of strains and they simply do not mesh with what I would expect to hear based on everything I've ever read about them. Trainwreck in particular.

I have the original Kali Mist from serious, I have two mothers of it. It's from around 2000. I'm running different stuff right not that Kali Mist is my favorite strain of all time, it just takes forever to properly finish-12+ weeks.

What is the description of the trainwreck you run. All of the research i done of the arcata cut matches up perfectly with his grows....

Here are some better pics of the bubba OG, it's 80 degrees in my flower tent and they are still purpling up. Super dense, can't imagine pulling less then 3 zips a plant, and that is with a pretty short veg from seed, these are just past the halfway mark, so they have ALOT of filling in to do...
