Thanks pickpocket33. I heard it adds crystals, weight, and taste to your bud. Just wondering if its worth it at this point.

It gives a small amount of trace minerals to your plants but it mainly feeds the microherd contained in your rhizosphere.

If you don't understand some of the words I used above there's no point in using it.

Wicked, well I hope someone chimes in who knows more then me. I add whats called sugar daddy from technaflora in HEAVY dosage During the flush. its weird. So I would assume you could use molasses. Same principle I assume. Sugars. Hey, have you heard using an MH in the last week enhances the frostiness too?

Yes. The UV in the MH increases trichome production.

Even better if you can supplement with a 10k MH too.

Molasses can be used from veg through flower.

Its mainly as mentioned a carbohydrate source for the microherd.

Be careful though too much molasses can hinder uptake of N.

"The flush" is a process I do not use.

My plants are fed the same base nutes from start to finish I just reduce my nute strength from around week7 of flower onwards.

Finishing on roughly half the strength I was using during full bloom.

If I am correct Molasses is only used and good for "living" soil meaning a
soil that never once drys out ever.
The soil is always very lightly moist to keep it "alive."
Living microbe colony/system and such.

Yes but it does also give trace amounts nutrients.

It certainly doesn't sweeten your buds.

Some claim a molasses smell to their bud when its been used.

Molasses has been known to also kill pest plants like certain types of weeds by stopping its ability to uptake N.

But please bare in mind that the microherd you ultimately feed with the molasses is living in a symbiotic relationship with the plants roots and exudates which already supply the carbs etc needed to keep the herd working.

I agree it does not sweeten the buds but sometimes you can smell it in the buds
depending on the strain?
I used it on a Blue Dream grow and a friend smelt some buds and said she could smell molasses and I said that is funny cause I used molasses for the grow.

So she smelt the molasses in the buds before I told her I used it for the grow and
other friends and I also can smell the molasses but oh so subtle and pleasant.

My GSC buds did not have the molasses smell at all after using molasses in the same grow as the BD's.

So just an update on day 1 - maybe a bit more crystally looking then the day before but way to early to tell. Could just be natural progression as it is nearing week 10. Gave more last night. Planning on doing one more feeding of nutes this weekend then continuing the watering w/ molasses for 1 week then flush for the last week. I should be cutting her down by July 1st. I like flushing, with my experience I think there is a difference in taste and smoke. that's just my opinion. Thanks everyone. I will update in a couple of days.

Well its been over a week now since I have added molasses to my waterings. Started with 1/2 tablespoon per 1/2 gallon for the first 3 days then bumped it up to 1 tablespoon per 1/2 gallon and its looking much more crystallized. The smell is a bit sweeter. Started just water feeding yesterday and will continue with that until I cut it down, maybe Tuesday. Thanks to all who have helped. Next time i will do a side by side comparison on two cuttings off the same mom. One with molasses starting week one of flower and one with molasses starting week 5 or 6 and see if there is anything to be said. Thanks again all.

Hahahahaha too true!!! I would suggest if anybody doesn’t know what that means to look at microbes specifically beneficial microbes and then you will actually know why you are adding an ingredient that is so heinously used in the culinary world by the way it’s not even proven if this works but to each his own happy growing everybody I just had to say that that was an awesome comment
