too many plants, too little light, lights too far away! Drop your fluoros closer to the plants or they will keep stretching (A Lot, your shit will fall over), and I would have put soil up until 1 1/2 inch from the rim of your pots, whats the size of your grow area?

yeah, that was your problem with your last grow! too little light, too far away, especially with CFLs and Fluoros, for the three plants I would have had double the lights in there, I would get the three bulb set up from like osh or HD or whatever... in fact, I need to do that today for myself. Is the top cover of your grow area covered with reflective material? Do you have a fan in there? doing these things will prevent stretching, increase branching (thus the amount of budsites), and make your buds denser (heavier), did you use any nutes on your last grow? How long did you veg for (if at all). Fixing your lighting will make it so you don't have to tie your plants up too! If you do these things, you will be pleased!

I would only have one row in there, and once you add lights you will need exhaust as it will increase temperature in there, as well as air intake for fresh air (to promote faster stronger growth. look at my journal to get a good idea what I mean...... https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/81154-grow-journal-2008-a-8.html
note that I have also moved my plants since those pics, so now they are only about 2 1/2 inches from the fluorescents, I have also added mylar and three CFL's, I am just trying to figure out now how to hang them.....

like I said, do these things, and you will be pleased... might I also recommend 1/4 tspn of Alaska fish fertilizer in 2 quarts of water to each of them, it will help your root ball get bigger and spread their growth out farther (as long as they were put into soil at least 10 days ago). Also give them some b1 fert about three days after the fish fert and you will see there stocks and leaves get bigger and healthier.... this really is your first grow eh?

you may want to use fish fert again in about two weeks (I usually wait at least ten days between using fish fert). Go to any kind of garden store and get yourself some nutrients man! Don't tell them that your growing herbs! Fox Farm is what I typically recommend for soil medium. Strive Alive is the perfect seedling and early vegetative nutrient solution (always follow directions!)... then I move to Fox Farm big bloom, and F.F. Tiger Bloom for the flowering cycle. Otherwise if your on a budget, go for anything recommended for roses and garden vegetables. since its out in a shed.... I recommend a little co2 released into the air (you could just go in there and breathe heavily, or smoke a cigarette). Don't Show your friends!!!! Beware of bugs, and I recommend cleaning the areas AROUND your pots with bleach once every two weeks (take plants out for this), its worth it, it will save the hassle of getting bugs to begin with. Good luck, let me know if you need any other info... and a good nighttime read is the Cultivators Bible by Jack Herror
