Grow bible, it's a real life saver. I personally think soil is a must for beginners, it's more forgiving than hydro, though if you choose the hydro route the guys on here are shit hot at giving advice you can't go wrong!

Study first look through the forum and look at set ups. Will give you a feel for what you want. I'd start with about 2 plants to begin with then when you get a feel for it add more if you wish.

Get all the right equipment and feeds in and have a chart set up and make notes. Always good to look back on and see where you have went wrong.

Good luck mate and have fun with it :)

OH MY FRIEND YOU COULDNT BE WRONG. ALL THE PROBLEMS I SEE ON THIS SITE ARE DUE TO SCREWED UP SOIL RECIPES.. VERY SELDOM DOES ANYTHING GO WRONG IN HYDRO WELL I GUESS IM SAYING I AM A NEWBIE ONLY STARTED ANY OF THIS HORTICULTURE STUFF IN JANUARY .. I WILL SAY I've tried soil and hydro.. The hydro if done right there is NO ISSUES. but i gotta say as for charts let me ask people do you all have feeding charts for your newborns OH no you simply watch them and look for signs... chart says nothing and can never be duplicated considering your surroundings are always changing and your plants will require more or less depending on what that particular strain needs... Again most issues i see on THIS site are Soil growers Just saying

Dude forest grows are the hardest outdoor op, I don't reccomend it unless u find a perfect spot well hidden and know how to deal with: deer fly, coons, skeeters, aphids, tics and all other pests but coons are theworst, they always fuck me over and dig my beans up when I forget about them.(the coons)

Well I've only been growing 2 and a half years so I consider myself a newbie also, and mostly people bung a plant in soil and don't do their research. Hence the mess ups. Charts are a good way for newbies to start to get to grips with the nutes they are using. I started with them, did me no harm. Newborns don't need feeding anyway, it's good to look at charts and start the nutes 1/4 - 1/2 strength.
In my opinion soil is more forgiving compared to hydro. I will soon find out anyway as I'm running a dwc alongside my soil grow.

Hydro has a much larger margin for error and requires a lot of monitoring and if using a recirculating system, a lot of adjustment, that's why I switched to coco, not as fussy and has some of the buffering capabilities of soil, but still faster.

As others have said, if you're posting this, you're not ready, read some books, read the how to stickies, then come back and ask specific questions, asking "how do I grow?" is kinda like asking "how do I build a house?"

Alright so I had enough of these dealers the frustrating process of buying weed so yesterday i purchased some green crack and cherry pie seeds from someone who's name shall not be mentioned and I want to know how to grow without turning dank into Schwag I have the lights venelation and everything set up in my basement I'm planning on using hydroponics but I may try something better depends on recommendations but I want to know the whole 8 week process I am prepared to put all my spare time on it so can roll it up help me ?
16 weeks minimum!!! Grow in soil dont run on the court taking threes start with a layup fox farm ocean forest or happy frog works fine...get some Cal mag....buy a growing book or surf the net....worry about drying and curing when you get there!! Don't over water or under water... don't over feed..There can be a lot of problems but you will have to cross that bridge when you get there...lots of problems but if you can keep them healthy bug free... Under the right temps and humidity you shouldn't ever have to deal with most of the shit that happens when your set ups not on point.

Everyone is telling you, you're unprepared, but if you have the lights an equipment already than why don't you just plant the fuckers an just wing your way thru this grow?, you weed might end up terrible, but that's the only way you can really learn how to grow dank shit, trust me all the books & words can't match experience

I left my hydro set up unattended for 18 days with no issues.. but again I've done my research not by reading but by trying all methods of growing.I guess go with what your comfortable with... depending on what you w

Thats why i have achieved what i have since only january.. I READ EVERYTHING not only do i read about cannibas i try and learn and understand every aspect to nature and growing.. IF i can learn how to grow without ever supplementing them with store bought items thats when ill be happy.. Although in only 6 months I've experimented with almost every indoor way you can.. Only flowered in hydro..

you have no idea, I ran 3 uneventful small sterile grows and then......SNOT! GO AWAY SNOT!
I'm sorry you had such problems which hydor... Like I've read and seen.. No matter what method you use if people don't understand the plants need and what it needs and how to tell when it needs it then things happen.. and so many other factors involved heat lights just environmental factors... All I know is i did my homework still doing each day and besides a hermied diesel OG and a small case of mites I'm good.. I left for 18 days went to colorado for vacation had a few power outages was for mites NO chems i up rooted it took it upstairs and put her upside down and showered her. after that i cut all infected areas out and BAM this is what result with a lil love and HYDRO care. Not sure what food you use the type of water and what you have in the water or your temps the bugs and critters indigenous to your area.. All know is what i do Works.. May not for everyone but me.. YES And before anyone says anything bout my root color Just kNOW this is an ORGANIC RUN at least organic from companies disclaimers. nectar and aurora innovations.(roots organics) SO commander if you need advice on hydro Ill help ya but never discourage anyone Just simply because YOUr method of snotty hydro wasn't a success DSC04023_2.jpg

Do you know the knowledge i possess. NO sp Please never tell anyone THEY HAVE NO IDEA. its you that has no idea.. I ran 12 different hydro methods in 3 months all success.. I never flowered any for my own reasons i vegged all from seed and either gave away or composted.. SO don't bash other methods simply because you haven't got it down yet... I know my friend use to grow 1000 plants at a time..out doors in the 80's early 90's i never got into it then just smoked it.. was pretty amazing site right there in plain site for NO ONE to see..I was amazed the amount of passings it had on a daily basis and no one could ever see it or smell it... Pretty stealthy country boys..

I was not trying to stop anyone from doing anything, I like hydro but there are down sides to anything. The only thing I can't do is kill this algae. I am going to ignore you now

If you want to start talking about soil versus hydro, consider this:

Most potting soil isn't soil. Aside from that, most people who grow in this 'soil' want to treat it like it is hydro anyways.

It is funny how most of us start growing in soil without even asking ourselves how real soil feeds plants.
