Will this be enough light to veg?

T5s are great for starting plants

if u have a 400w hid system u should be using a MH bulb for your growth once it is passed the seedling stage of growth (the power of the MH bulb will give u a better plant then the T5s)

I keep my mothers in veg under 2 38watt fluros, one coolwhite one warm white keep them closer to the centres of the tubes, they do fine so no doubt your set up will be ample

I would put as many lights in there as you can, I went from using LEDs to T5 for veg and I am regretting it. I am going to use the t5 only for the seedling / cloning phase but after roots they really need something to give them strength.

ive always used T5's with no problem, i dont have another tent and it would be difficult for me to use a MH because of heat issues, as of now the veg plants will be in a closet with no exhaust so a MH would likely roast them. I actually went and bought a vortex fan off a guy on CL and he had a 2 foot 4 bulb T5 so i grabbed that too. 6x2' T5's will be plenty. Even the T5's will probably cause a heat issue but it will be manageable as i have central ac and can just leave the door cracked to the closet, and ive never had a problem running a veg room at 85-90 degrees (will not be nearly this high).

damn .............if u can return part of what u got
here is the math
2 foot is 2000 lumens and choice of 3 bulb types
4 foot is 5000 lumens and choice of 5 bulb types

this means if u can fit a 4 foot in there even in the sides as poles u are get 2.5 times the l;ight

here is a link a link to the bulbs

4 ft is too long/tall for my veg area. My plan is to only flower 2 plants at a time and to have 4 in veg (max 6 ever) (veg room closet is just under 3.5 feet tall by 3.5 wide/deep.) My plan is to select the hearty'est/best trained 2 for flower to maximize yield. I may be able to do better with 3 in flower but they would have to be very small and i couldn't take advantage of the full 8 week veg without them being too big for 3 to fit in 2x2 tent for flower.Basically my current plan is to put the strips vertically in opposite corners and the 4 bulb up top.
