1 ) education doesnt alleviate the pressures of dogmatic religious beliefs, or the pressures of a society that requires those beliefs under law. the asshole who tried to drive a SUV full of incendiary devices into Glasgow International Airport was a Mother Fucking Physician for fuck's sake.

Yeah I'm not saying I have the solution bro...if I did this would be a different world. All I was trying to say is that more violence does not help the situation. Violence has of course led to good changes, such as the revolutionary war ending slavery (some might argue differently...I think it was a good cause)...but not just going in and occupying countries for a couple years...that's not doing shit. They are gonna revert right back to where they were, or worse now.

There's becoming more tolerance for woman being educated in the ME (sad that there was ever an intolerance, but look how far the US has come in only 100 years...things CAN change), and I think things will progressively get better. The more people raise awareness about the human rights issues, and push education over religion (not that they shouldn't be entitled to their own religion, but there are radical / extremist versions that are very far from the original principles of the Koran that need to go) the farther they'll progress imo (notice this is an OPINION). Most of the primary religions are very old and haven't been able to keep up with the progress of mankind - especially in the sense of human rights. It was a different world back then. Unfortunately some people are still living in that old world right now and stoning people to death.

Think about how easy gangs in the US can influence youth who are not educated, or only have the option of schools with no resources and no way to handle the home issues these kids are bringing to school - do you think most "gangsters" would be in a gang if they had a solid education and some structure in their lives? It goes beyond schooling of course, and starts in the home, which goes back even farther to economical and societal factors, etc , etc - but at the very least, wouldn't you agree that the "war on terrorism" hasn't really done shit but stir up a hornets nest? It's like going up to a killer bee hive and smacking it...

And what of the few millennia before that? Are you actually blaming America for all the stoning from multiple religions throughout history because of our foreign policy of the last seventy year or so?.

Saying the issue existed before doesn't mean we can't escalate it even further. That's like saying "I'm already addicted to narcotics so I should probably pop some Xanax...can't hurt right?"
