for some reason every time i smoke a bowl out of a bubbler or bong i get a tight throat/body feeling that makes breathing a bit more difficult but will go away if i walk around and stretch a bit. I dont get this with joints but i really like the flavor you get from a nice piece. I used to think maybe i got too high off bong rips but i smoke multiple joints daily that are atleast 1g flower and bubble hash with no problems but a small hit out of a piece creates discomfort

Have you been diagnosed with Asthma? I've got asthma n when I just take really deep breaths of air even that same thing happens to me. I believe it's stagnant air being trapped inside your lungs tht can't come out because of inflammation / restricted airways. Just a hunch. I switched to vaping n life's been great. Only need shallow breaths n can still get ripped.

Spoken like a marijuana god...I have the same issue, didnt use to up until about a year ago which is when my lungs started getting much worse, also get a feeling of choking on something after a big bong rip, but like he said switch to the vape;) I havent been happier since, I havent been as higher since either...;)

I've had a similar problem where it would be very difficult to breathe / coughing up stuff. I was having A. LOT. of joints and the smallest bong-hit would kill me. Stop smoking and switch to low temp vaporizer or edibles for a little while.

well whats weird is that i can smoke joints all day without negative effect....Yesterday i smoked 3 joints each about a gram and felt fine, then i decided to be brave and rip my circ bubbler, immediately i felt like breathing took more effort. I get this feeling whether i smoke flower/hash or dabs out of a piece, i'm 90% sure it has something to do with how you have to be all hunched over when you take a hit as the tightness feeling goes away if i walk around a bit but i have no idea why that would affect breathing.

Fuji at home, Pinnacle by Vaporblunt on the go. TBH if the Pinnacle didn't have a battery n could just be plugged in the wall then I'd only need that. Still roll one up occasionally but try not to...

Thinking about it now I do recall in the Marijuana book --thats the name i think
, it does state bongs tend to keep the resins and tars but depletes the thc..dunno if that is fact or not but would also make a tad more sense if you're getting a much larger percentage of tar and resin than normal ontop of taking a massive rip.

Do you have the same problem with pipes?

The only difference I can think of is the drag, and how much more extra effort it takes to inhale.
Try it with just a little water. Then maybe for science, try a big ass bong with lots of water, maybe even a percolator to increase drag.

Maybe having to exert extra effort to inhale due to the drag is what's messing you up. Like tires out your lungs (or diaphragm) or something.

I know if there's a lot of drag (e.g. several water chambers with a triple percolator), it feels like a lung workout, and it even tires me out. But I think it has made my lungs stronger.
