I want to play ask the writer if I can. My training is medical and IT so forgive my ignorance. My immediate reaction from my training is libertarian and socialism is an antagonist relation. How far off am I?

From my etymological research, libertarian comes form the latin word liberalis. It used to be just liberal, but because of politicians during the 1800s the definition changed. So to convey you are the original meaning of liberal, it was changed to libertarian. No where is AC's bullshit definition found except from his crackpots like Chomsky.

Libertarian and socialism aren't competing, they're just different. Like being gay and straight (also duals) aren't an antagonist relation unless you're a nutbar fundamentalist like from Westboro Baptist.

ah, I was thinking along the lines of working against each other. Individualism and collectivism, but what you say makes sense. Obviously, writing is not my strong suit but i want to get better. Gonna borrow UB's thesaurus.
