Found a girl I like a lot, now my question is how do I go about maintaining it with out it getting rediculous or getting root bound?

You're just vegging her, veg her just like you'd veg any other plant. Take clones along the way if you really like her.

I'd guess it'd be brightness and hours. Lower lumins from the light less food, less hours of light less food. I'd be afraid of stressing her to much with both probably just gonna go with dimmer light and a 18/6. She's a temper mental little snatch so I'd be worried with shaving her roots. Keep her as long as I can and just take a cut for the new mom after time.

I run a perpetual garden and I have learned not to piss around long term with mother plants. I prefer just taking an extra cut each cycle that will be my new mama. I find my clones root easier and are generally healthier with a smaller, more manageable mother.

Ok. I was just wanting long term cause I've heard as the generations go on through the plant time it's luster degrades over time. I'll just take a new cut when shes old.
That's an old wives tale. I've been growing the same Cheesequake plant for 4 years now and I take a new cut for a new mother each cycle. It hasn't lost one bit of vigor, yield, potency, etc. IMO you're rolling the dice more with one plant that you try to fiddle with for years becoming diseased, root bound, etc.

I'd not continue to make a Mother off of clones ( i.e. Mother, take clones, make your best clone a Mother, take clones from her, make the best clone a Mother, etc etc etc )...just my opinion.
