These are the type of rich "patients" the MMPR is made for .... LOL private clinic at $3600.00 a year... wonder if that's each?
apparently metriod is great..... I almost puked reading this, seems so rehearsed and plastic :spew:
Damn. That's scripted for sure. Almost like a que card for those with money and a desire to smoke some lite weed socially but to have Mettrum as your 1st choice? Serves them right. Truth be told, they wouldn't know good from bad anyway. They're rich!

I know ..... but they should have interviewed someone like big pauly .... haha imagine the different answers he would have gave them. Not to knock anyone's medical issues but they talk more like a "legal" rec user would.... just annoying to me is all.
hahaha Give me 10 minutes in front of a mic and cam and Mettrum would be packing up within the hour.

Wow I could come up with a nasty story about her doing yoga and him being professional...but I'll keep it out of the gutter today!!LOL Wow $7-$10 seems reasonable to these working sick people. I thought this medicine was supposed to be used as a last resort? Just like we said, oh oh my thumb hurts I think marijuana will help, I took some aspirin but I didn't like the side effects. Hahahahaha exactly who this new program is geared towards.

This reflects the general perception of medical marijuana, its patients etc. as held by the general public. It's what the average joe on the street understands of the program etc. etc. I think that people tend to think of mmj as an "alternative" medicine (like holistic) rather than a last resort for people.

see nothing has to do with how the general public sees things, it's how the govt and corporations want you to see things, they can spin toxic waste to the sheep of world to look like it wont harm you and 95% of the sheep will believe it, especially if they have their news media arms so it's so too. The day health Canada says it's medication is the day after it's declared legal so no reason to show the sheep it's not medication anymore.

It makes me very angry... very very angry.... Ha haha remember that Martian guy! like who couldn't kill the rabbit?

Sadly there's STILL a stigma attached to cannabis use in some areas. I know I've often been judged as a "pothead" or "stoner" many times in the past 15+ years. Most my family doesn't know beyond my parents and siblings. My dad has always been accepting of it but my mom has only recently begun to see it as medicine for me being more conservative in her beliefs. Truth is all types of people use cannabis for all types of reasons from dirty skater punk kids to old hippies to upper class professionals to grandmas to athletes to new age hippies to average joes and everything in between. We need to change the image/stigma of the lazy stoner that does nothing but sit on the couch the prohibitionists are so fond of portraying in media. They seem to think society will stop functioning because of all the "stoners" if we legalize, truth is were already here and it's not the end of the world.

while all that is true, people tend to believe what govt says without question, makes no sense to me.... So if and when the govt comes out of the closet sort of speak, people will tend to believe the "reefer madness" type propaganda. Meanwhile we can covert one person at a time but that does take generations to do. What I think is needed is a study/research from an unbiased Canadian researcher/group that can make a definitive result on whether or not it is truly medicine ....that when produced the govt and doctors have to agree with it. sure it's a slippery slope something like that as it could be easily corrupted by special interests and yeah there is research out there but those don't have weight with govt or doctors it seems..... sort of like the scientists and global climate change.... all it takes is a chemical company to pay for a skewed report and well it's like nope it's not man made at all!!! weird how if someone doesn't want something to come to light it's can so easily get dismissed. I see some ads on American t.v. about this that or the other drug and they say all the side effects..... I think to myself WTF?!?!?! gee can I have some.... yet MMJ is like evil, sure it has side effects but none of them involve dying because of taking too much of it.

and yes I believe it truly is medicine as for me it takes away so much pain, I was able to do soooo damn much more and helped me actually have quality of life. this was with black market weed too, so I'm expecting medical grade to help sooooo much more

The research part would be ideal. The problem is funding. Even the tiniest of experiments with proper documentation is 30k. No serious researcher will even touch a tiny project like that, the reason is that it's not enough time and money to work on the case. Trust me on this even if you don't trust me on anything else I say, you're looking at 200-300k for a decent study with a couple grads and a professor. This is a minimum. Now enter corporate interests which can usually come-up with this sort of money much more easily, now enter the human factor of benefactor and recipiant and voila a small taint on the outcome of the study. (Results can be interpreted in a million and a half ways from the same set of data).

So unless we can crowd source say 500k and get this going that way..........

How do I know the above holds true, I've been there and done that from the corporate angle. (This isn't winning me any friends here but its the sad truth about research today).

I say get the govt to pay for it, have 5 pro and 5 against see what they come up with. yeah maybe I'm simplifying it but I'm not a researcher  but I do know a lot of UFI (useless fucking information)

And the other part of the problem is the randomized,double- blind, PLACEBO-CONTROLLED study method. This is where I am banging my head against the wall with wcb. It may be my undoing as I cannot find enough of those kinds of studies showing the cohort. It is a fucked up situation as well because it is extremely difficult to get the placebo part to trick people.

here's a website with a few links to double blind / placebo, talks about how there isn't a lot of them but there is.....

I would suggest contacting certain referenced researchers directly. They would be an excellent source and would point you to studies that they are privy to. Some studies are only found in peer journals and do not find their way on the www. Send them a "neutral" email or call them, asking for their help in finding relevant studies (simply ask them if they know of any). It would be even better if you sent this query to a "friendly" researcher. Researchers are passionate people, and if you hit on the right guy/gal they will throw a lot of relevant data your way.

Don't be shy to also use sources like the makers of sativex (GW Pharmaceuticals)...you get the idea here, just make sure each call or mail is tailored to the source of info you are tapping. SO for Sativex you might not want to mention certain "dispositions" but simply ask for the efficacy of components on receptors, etc. etc. and why their product is so great. You'll get studies up the ying yang from them supporting their product.
