the temps will go up with the larger bulb your only a couple of degrees off.

what about odor ? or no need ?

cool grow .
bongsmilie
Thx

I got some ideas cooking on how to take the temps down so that the new lights wont cause any problems, but I didnt had the time to make them happen (midterm exams)
until then I can allways just add more freezed water bottles to take them down

about the odor, I already made a really small carbon filter that will fit instead of the light trap, I just need to buy some activated carbon and test it out
also, the Blue Mystic is supposed to be real low odor while flowering, havent tested it out for myself but I have seen alot of reviews saying the same - thats one of the reasons I picked this strain.

Small update:
Hey guys, the summer has hit us around here really hard, which is excellent for going to the beach but very bad news for my plant - today it's like 34C outside :cuss: (93.2F).
So I have been reading around about ventilation and decided to try and switch from an active intake to a passive intake in order to lower the temps.
I designed a new front panel:

I know that rectangles are not optimal for a passive intake shape but they are MUCH easier to cut :P
the thing I noticed when reading about ventilation is that no one can really put a finger on which system works better - one with negetive pressure or a positive pressure.
I decided to try negetive pressure - seems more logical to me (although I will probably make another panel for positive pressure just to test it out).
the ratio is exactly 2:1 (active : passive).
so far it seems to work better - the temps have been about 1F-2F degrees lower with the new setup - which seems to be equivalent with my room temperature and I guess it's as best as it can get without air conditioning or using frozen water bottles or whatnot.

But the best part about the new setup is that with only 1 light trap it looks like a face with a mustache‬‏ HAHA!

It looks like an english gentleman, only missing the monocle

well thats about it, Ill finish off with a few photos of milady whose been making really good progress ever since I started feeding her :weed:
Day 16

Oh, I almsot forgot... Happy 420!! bongsmilie

Looks good man how did you make the light trap, I had a old speaker seemed like to much work so I just used a old cabinet for my veg area.

thx, and yea it was and is alot of work.. but I find it very enjoyable :)

for the light traps I used cardboard (I used it for the front panels too - my girl is into art so we got a lot of it laying around the house) and hot glue.
I didnt follow any set of rules in making it just because I cant allow to - I have a really small space so I just have to make do
the distance between the two panels is about 1.3cm, the entire light trap is 3cm wide and the carboard is 0.2 cm thick.
that leaves a distance of 1.3cm from the speaker's front panel to the inside panel in the light trap (I have no idea what to call it - the cardboard piece that blocks the light from the inside)
the panels of the light trap cover around 1cm of the other - which is good enough to trap light
I started with a lager cover area (around 3cm), tested and cut it until I've reached the minimal covrage area (that's why the cuts aren't very clean)
it doesn't work like a charm, I only use the light traps when we have visitors
phew, now that I finished explaining I'll put up some photos of it all

and as for the light traps of the new setup (the passive intake) they are not yet finished

on a side note, I plan to use this guide hoping it will work better
https://www.rollitup.org/t/diy-light-trap.484398/
this kind of setup seems better suiting for my grow box
but theres so much to do and so little time haha

This could be nute burn or a problem with potassium.
More detail would help diagnosis. Do leaves feel papery, starting to claw. Is it on older leaves, higher or lower leaves.
The more detail you can provide the better the chance of a correct diagnosis.
Looking good tho.

the spots are on two older leaves, no clawing and they feel soft and healthy
I guess it's probably a nute burn since I have been feeding just abit over the recomended dose (around 2.5-3ml per liter) - thinking organic nute overdose wouldnt cause any harm.
should I flush? or just water without feeding for the next couple of watering?

sounds like nute burn with potassium over load.
I would stop feeding and just use plain(ph'd) water.
keep a watchful eye and see how she does. If it gets worse then flush.
Out of curiosity what soil are you using.
Well done on spotting the problem early.

peace out.

thanks alot man, I'll stop feeding her and see how she reacts
and I'm using a local brand soil mixture, most likely didn't heard of it

No worries dooooda.

when you start feeding again, keep nutes low. I start with about 5th strength, see how she reacts. If more need, up the nutes to quarter strength and so on from there on in.
Remember nutes are like multi vitamins and should be given as a supplement, like with humans.
The plants food is the sun. This is why its important to get your lights colour spectrum right. If you remember this then you won't go far wrong.
Happy growing
p.s apologies for the long post, but a little baked, im sure you'll understand
tho.

Week 4 Veg
She's at day 28 today, it was a slow paced week, she mostly streched out
most of the burn from the nutes have seem to disappear and I went back to feed her today with 4th of the regular dose
here she is:

getting taller

Also, I fimmed her two days ago - she's responding pretty well and quick
The FIM cut at day 26:

Day 28:

I will probably switch to 12/12 by the end of this week, depending on the new tops growth
It's funny that I was planning to veg under double 135W CFL's and ended up using double 45W instead, which did better then expected :)

and some new nugs I got my hands on, awesome stuff :bigjoint:

Cheers

Week 5 Veg
It's time for a weekly update :)

well, she's at day 35 today, I expacted she would be bigger by now but I guess 90 watt CFL can only do so much
the good news is that my flowering lights got here in time so I changed one of the bulbs so now I have one 45W 5500K and one 105W 2700K CFL
I put her under the scrog screen about 3 days ago, and I"ll veg her abit longer until she covers most of the screen, hopefuly it will happen soon now that I got stronger lights on her

Day 35:

there's new top growing out of what used to be the main stem before I fimmed her

I never scrogged before so I would be happy to hear some feedback or maybe some tips about it

Cheers

Subbed, I will have 2 speakers by the end of the month, and seeds will be ordered next week. The SCROG is a great choice, what I was going for. If you lookup PC grow boxes for sale and there is a website where a customer did a grow journal with one plant scrogging and it came out beautiful. Its actually the Mr grow pro. Go to his FAQ and look at the thread he posted. Good luck!

yea, at first I wasnt so sure if it would benefit to scrog in such a small space - but during the last week Ive realised how good it was that I decided to do it :)
gonna upload some updated pictures in a couple of minutes

Yeah I would love to see in detail your scrog. Pictures/dimensions/the screen itself. How did you get it to stay up in the speaker? Put legs on it? What did you use for material? Thanks, your plants are looking great!
