hello, iam trying to switch now from rockwoll to coco

i got some seeds that have germinated in a glass of water and iam interested in transferring them to 18/6 cycle now.

iam using drip system with floro @ 54W.

1 . should i pre-soak the coco for 24 hours in p.h 5.5 like rockwell?
2 . can i put the coco slabs directly into the bath? (without usage of hydroton\something else) and then stick the dippers directly?
3 . the system is run to waste, how much waste should i have when watering the seeding?
4 . how many time per day should i water the coco (seedings) taken that my pump does 400L/H and the height is 10CM.

Thanks alot!!!!!!

leave some water out for 24 hrs before you put the coco slab in it, adjust the ph b4 u put coco in it. u can use coco on its own or with perlite or hydroton. if u have a drip watering system u will have to work out how much water u give it yourself . coco drains well but can will be wetter further down the medium so dont over water and try to drain as well as you can

hi, i have pre-soaked the coco for 24 hrz in ph 4.0, the ph now is 5.2 and the ppm are 1230. do i need to wash the coco again to remove the salts? if so should it be with regular water or with adjusted ph water?

i have planted the seeds 8 of them, into hyddroton with coco, placed under 18/6 FLORO and hummidity is 80%. and we will see what will happen. currently i water them manually because they are small. i water them with 200ppm water + 2 organic nutes (GHE and flora nova)

the hydroton was pre-soaked for 24 hrz, the ph kept raising so i kept adding ph down\buffer. is that o.k? should the hydroton ph raise all the time?

I dont think you have to bother with all that if you buy good coco...I use canna and it claims to be pre-buffered, ive been using it straight out of the bag with no problems

never used hydroton i just use coco with a little perlite, you need sme heat when you sprout them and for good growth in the first 2 weeks like a normal 60 watt light bulb about 6 inches away.

i use a hydroton mix, not much , but v.v said the same and he only uses coco ,but i have my two week old seedlings in it and a 400 m.h very close with a fan on them and they seem happy enough ,so i guess we will see ,but i did buy nutrefield a very good aussie barand and already pre buffered:peace:
