Why buy an expensive grow tent ?

Just wondering what all the extra money for a good grow tent actually buys you. I've heard stories of peoples equipment crashing down on the plants. Clearly if this happens then its def worth getting a quality tent although there must be some quality budget tents. anyway here are a few ive been checking out.

I actually like the last tent but i think its because im dazzled by the pretty colours and caught up in the mindset that more investment gets you a better product. I'd like to know any thoughts on pro's + cons on pricier tents vs budget tents. Also if anyone has any suggestions for better 4x8 tents than the above, id be happy to hear them.

I dont understand why people spend so much on tents either to be honest. I got a nice 5x10 tent off amazon for 280$ shipped to my door. Its got 4 huge doors on all sides of it and has plenty of support bars and vents to accommodate my growing needs, fans, lights, ducting, etc.. Make sure whatever you order has metal support poles, thats a game changer. But wow that budget grow tent is a fucking deal!! What you do get with buying a nice tent like a Secret Jardin is consistant quality. The zippers will last a loonng time, no light leaks, everything goes together smoothly. Fortunately i got a good tent off amazon and am more than happy with it.

Just cause I bought a expensive grow lab from the hydro store cause the guy was like oh we don't stock the cheap tents cause they break blah blah blah ( he got me)
Anyways got those and the fucking zippers Broke one 2 of the 3 anyways iv had BETTER experience with cheap ones off eBay or Amazon.
Just my two cents
I had a secret jaireden that one was pretty bad ass the 4x8.

I been reading reviews and the jardin seems like they all get good reviews.I thinkall there frames are metal.im also in search of tent.im around the 150 $ mark dont wanna spend more

i know in the past, some of the cheaper tents had problems with gassing off, and killing all of the plants inside of them.. this was when the tent thing was fairly new though, i'd think they'd have worked that out by now though tbh, just thought i'd mention it.

more costly ones . the material it self is more thick . and better material . its basically put together better . and better quality. advice that was given to me when I started up . buy the more costly one once or buy a cheap 1 then be pissed you did not spend a few extra bucks and rebuy a new one tomorrow .

And i dont understand why anyone buy a tant at all? Just find a corner where you live put a fat wood plank to use like a second wall then chain up ur light put couple of fans and here we go...? My ghetto set up room costed me like 100$ or less for 2 fans, reflective material, couple of pots and the wood plank and its working perfectly fine...??? Oh and im not even using the wood plank anymore i just use 1 fish hook with floss and one pin to fit the reflective in place like a sort of wall :/ Im also using floss and carton hand made hooks with scissors to hold fat branchs and look at what im growing! Use your imagination people it will save yall alot of moneyIMG_0589.JPG

one plus about a tent is you can run a charcoal canister air filter from the tent and no one will smell it .
Sitting in a corner of the basement can stink up a whole house.
Aside from cost, consider looking one that is taller than most.
The extra Height is a blessing with some tents

Oh yeah it does smell in the whole house lmao :mrgreen: But its not much of a problem here ^^ If it become one im gonna buy some Ona gel with is difuser :joint:

Its cheaper to build a room yourself, i agree. But if you are renting a home or in an apartment or some sort of temporary living situation where being able to break down your room so it's storable and portable, a tent is the way to go. Plus if you live in extreme environments where it's a challenge to grow, tents are a sealed environment that helps you to control those temps/humidity. Also, its probably easier to hide from your friends& family that come over, your kids, etc..

The only down side i can say about tents are the height restrictions. Like PhatPhuker said youll be really happy with the money well spent for an extra tall one. Mine is 6'8" but I wish it was 8'

More expensive doesn't always mean better quality. Cheap isn't always the best either!

I like a nice thick/heavy duty tent because it's more forgiving and not easily damaged. Also, the zippers matter. A LOT! You don't want light leaking through a cheap zipper or for the zipper to get damaged. Better quality craftsmanship and a higher quality of materials overall.

I think you get better precision in the size of the material, zipper thickness/ quality, mylar thickness. With that being said, I bought 2 cheap tents.

I've always used tents because I need to use the space for other things when I'm not growing.

My 11-year-oldtent was supposed to be a good one (at the time) -HydroHut Silver Edition, but it isn't up to par with most of the newer ones.

On the other hand, I have a Gorilla tent, too....Too many zippers! The materials are really heavy-duty, but there are just too many zippers. I already had one come off the track and it was a pain to fix it.

I haven't really looked closely at any of the really new tents, but I can see that many of them have addressed the problems that plagued the older designs -e.g., light leaks and flimsy zippers.
