Outdoor grow near a stream

OK so here's the deal. I am going to start an outdoor grow near a stream near my house. It's actually more of a creek, and since there is a dam upstream a few miles, it has water year-round at the same level (ie:doesn't flood). So i am thinking that I will start about 10 seeds indoors under some CFLs that I have and get them going with a good root system and strong stem. I am then going to move them to a spot on the creek that I will pick out. I am thinking I will find a sandy area that is very sunny and plant them right were the sand turns into soil. I think I will put them in burlap sacks to retain moisture and then put some chicken wire around the tops to keep the animals away. And then just check them about once a week until it comes time to harvest in sept. What do you think? Any tips for growing by a creek or how to water them? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks:peace:

Awesome, I think I will start them pretty soon. I was hoping that if I plant them close enough to the stream I won't have to water them, and will only have to check them once every 2 weeks or so. Then I will come back in Sept and have marijuana trees!!!! just dreaming . . .

Not to revive an ancient thread but I knew a guy that like to plant just past where the water meets the soil. He would go to different lakes and plant clones and come back only a couple times a summer. Didn’t have to water cause roots would
Find the water. He seemed to like it but they only got a couple feet tall.

Just don't plant where nothing is growing already. There's a reason for it.
