For instance in a 30 day period, only using his light on 12/12 hes paying $126.00 for 30 days, or if running indicas... for 60 days thats $252.00 with a general outcome from 5-16 ounces from that 60 day period using only his light, no fans, nada... He would need to charge per 5 (oz) thats about 140 grams, $1.80 per gram to cover costs from just this bullshit. Anything over that is profit. minus whatever time...I live I California, I suspect we are among the most expensive states for electricity.
To run one 1,000w lamp for one hour it would cost 0.35¢ for myself.
Others are in areas where the electricity is quite low, 0.08¢ per KWH.
To figure your costs take the cost of one KWH from your utility company and then multiply it by the amount of hours and wattage you will use.
Wow my dad lives in Florida. Iv been thinking of visiting. Now I may not cause I wouldn't leave.we got 12.225 cent per kwh ish around here (west coast florida) nov last year... means if you run a 1kw light (rounded for ease to 1kw) for a light. $44.01 for 30 days (nov 2013) so $88.02 for 60 days, running nothing else at that time means you need to charge at least $0.62871 per gram if you only produce 5 ounces from 60 days of using the light.
Anything under 3 or 4 kW of light shouldnt arouse any attention provided no other clues give you away. Running on a flip makes it diifficult for smartmeters to detect a 12/12 usage pattern.
What do you mean running on a flip?Anything under 3 or 4 kW of light shouldnt arouse any attention provided no other clues give you away. Running on a flip makes it diifficult for smartmeters to detect a 12/12 usage pattern.
What part of the state's do you live? And how did you find that out?I found that a 10kw grow; that's fans, moms, lights etc cost less than a family home with four or more children.
This winter electricity in parts of New England rose to $0.17/kWh (.12 supply + .05 delivery). One of my friends power bill was $650. In NYC it is closer to $0.25/kWh. High electric bills are no problem, very circumstantial evidence and yes the power companies just want to get paid.
Some people use electric heaters, tons of AC, tons of dehumidification, saltwater aquariums with HID lighting, swimming pool accessories, electric smokers, do tons of laundry, leave their TVs and computers running and have teenagers that take long hot showers. Their bills can easily be higher than growers bills.
I had an email from my power company telling me that I'm using 96% more power than similar homes my size.I run a 1000w & a 600w and according to a flyer I received in the mail from a solar power company,
I pay $250- $300 more then my neighbors for power. So much for privacy.
Wer do you live, what part of the states?I had an email from my power company telling me that I'm using 96% more power than similar homes my size.
I run a 400w lol.

How many lights and what was the bill what Part of the state's was it, I'm just super curious cuz I haven't got my first bill yet and since I started should be coming in soon. $250 or lower im adding another light $400 or more I'm screwed Cuz I don't want a high bill evening every month that's crazyA flip is like a back to back grow where one budding room is off while the other is on and vice versa. There are many advantages to running on a flip, especally in cold weather.
I converted a house into a large grow-op and the bill was lower than the family that lived there prior.
