hps bulb or cfls??

Getting 4oz off just one 200w ginat cfl is good going and def nothing to be sniffed at.
was that weight dry or wet ?

Yeah it was dry weight(not inc popcorn,that I smoked to keep Me off the Main Crop...had itchy trigger finger..), though will say a bit airy...?

Y'know the more I think about it?? While I'am happy with the results from my 600w Hps - but this time should be better than the last Crop..was Vegged too long under 250w Hps setup and only went under the 600w for last few weeks.

But still I can't help but think about maybe running a Proper setup 200w OR maybe 250w Giant CFL Rig in the same Closet as before but this time not Dual..one of each..with the right air-flow, intake,exhaust etc....And still Vertical and still 4 x Ladies(but not Bagseed this time) Hmm might be interesting to see what difference a couple of yrs and a bit more experience makes....

I've been using a 400w for years vertically in a cool tube, stealth wardrobe and it's been producing nice but I can't tell you how fed up I am with dealing with heat issues and noisy ventilation.
not to mention all the electricity used on the lights and fans.

with all of the money I spent on trying to get my heat issues under control and the money for the light, fan and scrubber itself I could have bought a nice quality LED and saved myself a lot of trouble in the future.

in my defense, LED's at the time weren't up to snuff but you can get a nice led for that tent for $500 or a cheaper chinese cidly apollo 8 for less tgan $300. the upfront cost sounds like a lot but you will more than make up for it in the first year in electricity savings. you won't have to manage nearly as much heat, it will be quieter and you don't have to replace any bulbs.

that's just my 2 cents and what I would do if I was just starting out

watt for watt LED still doesn't produce the same yields as HID. I have yet to see anyone prove otherwise. If/when someone does and LED is more efficient than HID I will gladly switch.

As it stands the lumen output per watt, HID is still top dog.

That is impressive. Clearly there is a LED fixture that is better than HID but Hydro Grow LED said in the comments that the one he used has since been discontinued but it's a 600w equivalent. The one that is available and closest to that is $1200 bucks and I don't think many will spend that on a light fixture. Myself included. If it was reasonably priced I would buy it right now, but not for $1200. Until they come down to a reasonable price I can't see myself

how much do you get of one auto in your set up on average ?

I'd pay triple for a hit of cannatonic I can't believe the collectives aren't pumping this stuff out yet. There are many aspects of cannabis I enjoy, but mind trips aren't one of those things. I used to like to get really high and have out of body experiences, but not anymore. I guess it comes with age and maturity as everyone of my friends would say the same thing.

I'm pretty new to farming so I am not sure what my yields will be. We'll know in seven weeks Right now I have one auto in flowering. She is has really strange, short, fat genetics. I imagine she won't yield more than a quarter ounce. We'll see.

Please tell me what it's like to ingest Cannatonic. Can you describe the experience?

HPS for sure. Maybe CFL for the first week or two. If you look on Ebay, you can get HID systems fairly cheap.

im def intersted in this side by side grow . thinking out loud and seeing the results if but small from t5s im kinda thinking that slow matured low heat flowers maybe smaller but the conditions are much kinder to your flowers and phaps a larger range of terpin profiles are preserved . UNPROVEN !

ps. im interested to see the strange auto that may only yield a 1/4. any pics ?

LEDs - find a used Kessil on ebay. No heat problems and plants grow faster with less humidity.

This ebay store states that I can get a 400w dimmable MH/HPS light with ballast and air cooled hood for $143. Is this accurate? If so, I want it. Might this be an inferior product that I have to worry about burning me alive while I sleep? This setup will cost $300 at local stores.
