hey guys once again sorry if this is in the wrong section but I am indeed a noob.
Im looking around for LED grow lights to replace my HPS summer is coming and its way too hot. Looking for a Flower/Veg LED.
Found some on ebay for a good price but will they grow my plants? Im in a smaller tent 3x3x6 Only have a few plants in there.
I found this and some other things like this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/300W-Full-Spectrum-9Band-LED-Grow-Light-IR-Veg-Flower-Hydroponic-Panel-Lamp-New/181254420890?_trksid=p2050601.c100085.m2372&_trkparms=aid=111001&algo=REC.SEED&ao=1&asc=20140211132617&meid=6165663036389719554&pid=100085&prg=20140211132617&rk=1&rkt=4&sd=181254420890&clkid=6165663805954770124&_qi=RTM1562569
Im currently using a 400W HPS and it grows my plants great.
let me know what you think.

Thanks!

My 330 watt led would outperform a 400 my/HPS, but doesn't come close to a 600 HPS. But mine isn't a cheap light. I would check out other posters on this forum and see what cheaper leds people are using that work. Then go from there.

The Lighthouse Hydro BlackStar has some pretty good reviews.
I was looking into LED awhile back, but the upfront cost is outrageous! $180 - $260 for lights? If I were growing commercially and heat/energy was an ongoing cost.. I would probably look into LED, especially because you will make your investment back when the yield sells. As for the closet grower, you will never get your investment back.. When your talking CFL vs LED for a closet/box grow.. 250 watts is 250 watts.... CFL is much cheaper... I just started a new "stealth" armoire box.. using a $15 bathroom vanity and 2 turkey pans for my light fixture. Now I just have to get the air filter and vent system up and running. Then its good to go..

Can't beat the bathroom vanity setup. I love mine.

I did quite a bit of reading about LED's. I'd love to use one to cut down on heat, but it always seems like a gamble at this point in the development of LED's. Area 51 RW150 are good. These are mid priced, but come highly recommended. http://a51led.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=65 Blackstar is reasonably priced and seems good also. Here is a spreadsheet that compares the major quality brands I could find.

Much of the marketing hype of mj only needing peak PAR red/blue is total BS. This is a big part of why hps/mh growers are on the sidelines, if not outright laughing at all the crap that multispectrum panels growers are stuck with.

WHITE is essential to provide the full spectrum that fruiting plants (mj) needs. We ain't growin lettuce or herbs!

Adding a bit of deep red (~630-66) and/or 450 blue is fine, but start with ~ 4200 white

Come by my thread to see what 2 x 90w led (3500/5000) are doing with MedMan Silver Skunk seeds
