Best Germination Method

What would the community consider the best germination method. I used a seedling greenhouse in dirt, and only 1 hatched then died. I hate dirt. I am considering the paper towel method the best to make sure of germination. Are rockwell cubes sitting a quater in water better??? They will land in Bubbler Tanks.

paper towel method works nicely.
also simply putting seeds in a cup of water for a day or two will get that tap root going.

Describe the cup method a little more.

How much water? Emerged in the water, kept in the dark till the tap root is out Then Tap root down in to cubes and into my tanks?

wet soil and plant if you only have few seeds. These fancy germ methods are used mostly by commercial growers who have alot of seed to plant and dont want to waste time or space planting the seeds that dont germ. If you have less than 50 seeds i would just plant them in peat pellets or whatever medium your using.

just a little warm water preferably in a glass cup so you can see them.
drop seeds in and place in the pantry. if they float just push them down and theyll sink.
check them in a day and you should have little tap roots emerging.

ive had good success with both methods.

Aint that the f!@#ing truth.

Put your seeds in a cup of water. Put about an inch of water in there. If they float/sink means nothing that ya can tell. Leave them in for 24 hrs. Plant after 24 hrs.
!!!!!If ya wait for a tap root the odds that you will kill the seed are very hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Jolly dude under you says plant in a day if the tap root emerges it will die.

You said the tap root will be out in a day and obviously I can plant then?

What is the safest method?

Cup w/ water

plates w/ paper towels

I'm going to do 6 + 6 side by side.

6 in a cup and 6 in a plate with paper.

All Sour Diesel

i tried both methods last time with almost all germed.
see what method you like best, both work fine.

sour diesel yummm:hump:

In a few days I am going to make my opinion on the best method. I have done paper towel years ago. But I used rockwool right in my tanks last run and of course not all germ. I want to fill my tanks only with definants, since I want to run SOG and pack in as many little girls as I can in my space.

Yeah I cant wait to taste the D in a few months.

I have had a couple of them come out in less then 24 hrs in the water and they drowned and died.
Nothing yet on neither methods. It looks as if one in the cup is growing a microscopic tap root, the only one that sank coincidentally. LoL. :-? Well Ill keep you guys up to date. Laters

it is..you never know if you might drown your tap root by leaving them in water too long./...paper towel allows alot of moisture and oxygen..making the tap root explode with growth...

I had good results in both.

2 hatched in water
1 in the paper

within 24 hours. I noticed the constant between the two. Only the gray brown hatched within 24 hours. All the black ones are still going and the 4 left over from the cup have moved into the plate. I like the idea of 12 hours in the cup then paper towel, since I started to see the microscopic root within 12 hours in the water. Magnifying effect is great, lol.

My new method will be

12 -24 hours in water or till tap root is exposed then onto paper.

Once tap root is exposed they go into rockwools.

That go into bubbler tanks.

sweet. i like the new method.

i dont know what black seeds means but brown seeds with some stripes IMO germ best.

i think the white/green seeds are premature, so maybe the black seeds are "overcooked" if thats even possible

anyway good to see some germed, good luck with the grow
