I'm saying if the auto starts flowering which it should it in two weeks then I need to increase the light intensity to improve yield.. just from my understanding I could be wrong.

I tied her down and also topped my oldest non auto. Recut the clipping at a 45° and dipped into clonex rooting compound. Placed it in a fresh pot and made a quick dome to promote some humidity.

Man when I clipped her the smell was released!! Talk about excitement. Anyways let's hope this goes as planned. Will be my first attempt at cloning and topping.

okay raise your light to 40" turn it on full put the auto on something to raise it up 16" -20" that leaves 24"- 20" to the light on max. as the plant grows lower it same amount. but leave these lights on as much as possible auto love 20/4. then if you have to dont jump to 12/12 lower it 1 hr every 2 days. till you hit 12/12 for your others it gives more light time to the auto and allows the plants to slowly change which in my book is the only way to go if you can.

if you raise your lights 40" over the others then you will be good. and then raise your plants so you have 24" to the light. you wont loose anything doing this but gain since the auto has limited time. if you are on 24 hrs lights on leave them for another week then switch to 22/2 for 2 days then 20/4 for as long as you can.

And you think I should do this now or wait 2 weeks until the auto starts flowering

she showed her sex so she is starting flower stretch now. i would do it now. the more light she gets the better and 24" should be perfect for now. can you put her higher than the other plants?

I've read that autos show sex at the 4-5 week mark then at the 6-7 is when they are actually flowering(growth at 1"/day). Yes I could raise her higher but I'm curious if she will block light from the others.

I went ahead and made the adjustments.

Raised light by approx 3.75'
Raised auto to about 20" away
Turned light on full power.
Adjusted timer from 18/6 to 20/4

I also took the clone out and made adjustments.

Cleaned stem at the cut and used a knife to scrape away some plant tissue at the point to promote root growth.

Placed in a jiffy pellet instead of my planting soil

Poured a little clonex into the jiffy pellet

Placed pellet in a random (smaller) container and put the dome back on.

Meter is showing 75%. +/- 5%

What are signs to look for if the light isn't enough or is too much? How often should I check them? Finally, how soon should I see some results?

Thanks

okay led dont burn leaves and white led dont bleach leaves. so you have to see if leaves start to curl in 2 hrs then in 4 hrs if okay then you are good if in am leaves still dont have any curl.
and a clone of what i hope not the auto. she doesnt like that and the clone has to go in also under the light she will finsh with no roots if you feed her good.

Yeah definitely not from the auto! Lol.. I topped my oldest photo (pics earlier). Been reading uncle bens thread and wanted to give it a try. In there it says you can take your clipping and make a clone out of it so I figured why not? It's good practice at least.

his led is the new 190 a51 all white. its powerful 5 watt diodes. he will have to learn the distance. start safe then lower 2 inch and see if they still like it. you have to watch your leaves on top. and with more intense light they will drink harder and use more nutes and grow faster. So keeping an eye on how light pots get is huge. i bet he will have to water sooner on the auto now.

Thanks for the motivation! Depending how this top turns out*should see results in 24 hours*. If how intended I will look at lsting! I'm still beginning and would hate to try too many advanced techniques and ruin my whole grow! Lol

Also I threw 4 seeds into germ. 1 is doubtful as 1 is another goo bag seed. The doubtful one is a bag seed from some master but it was quite green(immature). The 2 others are blueberry headband & Alakahzam.

I am about 5 weeks into this current grow and I believe I need to start germination every 4-6 weeks to provide a constant harvest until I get comfortable cloning.

Not really seeing any real progress with what I have. Is 2 800 lumens 5k and 2 900 lumen 65k cfls too much for a 2 week old?

Would you recommend it for my next grow? Any differences in growing method because of using an led?
Man I'm just as experienced as you. I contacted them today interested in ordering another asap.

I've only used cfls and that was very short because my LED came in.. I will say with this LED I've had no issues yet(knock on wood). I've used it for sprouts instead of t8/cfl and also for vegging. DCo is more knowledgeable on your question.

When I hit full power when I first got it I wasn't blinded(like I thought would happen). So it did raise a little curiosity on it's power.

I've never used HID but man this is pretty simple. Just hang it to manu's rec'd height and watch em grow. My electric bill has raised more from my aquarium lights than the LED. It gives off virtually no heat.. I'm super happy so far
