now that i got that out of the way lol. This moundjng thing is interesting makes sense, whenever i tip dress with super soil i see roots start within the week. Beeb thinking bout going back to fabric pots, started on them but got away from it cus the only brand i could get was cheap quality but expensive andd would only last one grow... always thought i puleed more weight from them though and def better roots.
 
Calling all TGA heads, I'm about to start training my tga gear. Debating on method. I will not do uncle bens method. That's been a failure every time.. Each plant has 5 nodes at least. The quantum kush, plushberry , one 9lb, and one mojos og (Jesus og x Scotts og) are all branching out with out doing anything. The others are not. Those require topping or lst. I want to do wider plants this time. I want 6 plants in 5 gals to fill a 5x5. Thoughts .....

Well I'm no tga gear grower, however I would start intensive lst early on, I don't like pruning in early veg, slows down growth. and in about a month super crop maybe once, but IMO I would stay away from super cropping, just because I can achieve what super cropping does by lst. I believe in less stress the better
lst the whole way!

Never fails, just more time consuming

I second the mainlining idea, havent tried any of those strains but my space bomb loved it. Was also the most i have pulled off that strain to date. Would do it again but the clones i have of it didnt lkke mainlingin because they never went back to symmetrical node growth so it just looked like a well trained plant. Would avoid it on the indica doms till you know how they react to topping. Thats my 2 cents on it anyways
 
I haven't had much luck with main lining. It may be genetics though. Always 1-3 branches are always much shorter than the rest. Every time. If I choose to main line. The strains that are not branching out would probably be best.... Correct? To get those colas without secondary branches. I probably will do multiple methods lst / topping / main lining. I have not decided yet
 
So I am aiming for a perpetual grow in a 3x3 tent with a 3x3x2 chamber attached to it. I built a modular scrog that is 16"x16" x4 and a little stand so I don't have to bring the light to them and I can dry underneath my grow so I don't have to worry about the mesll

I don't know how a mainline can be 'uneven' unless the branches aren't trained symmetrically. It might have something to do with uneven light distribution.
 
My experience with Mainlining was very 'MEH' and I've switched to a modular scrog which for me does better all around.

Hey Hy! Definitely need to hang out here more. Maybe I'll change my "pseudo" organic ways finally :). But I ain't giving up mah Clonex!!!!! Besides, they cut down all the willow trees to make cloning liquid out of years ago around where I live. Assholes :(.

Also I've been meaning to ask you something, if kelp is an excellent source of iodine, how do you know that the kelp you use is iodine free? Or am I crazy worrying about it? Tobacco has specific trace amounts of iodine and three's a butt load of qualified people who point to that as a significant cause of disease from cigarette smoking, along with the countless of other chemicals they put in those fuckers to keep people addicted. It's just that sometime we borrow techniques from floriculture and they're really for the florist industry and could be dangerous for our needs. I was just wondering if you've ever thought about something like that, Kaptain Kelp ;). Or am making mountains.........

For mainlining I just bend the fast branches until they are the same height as the slower ones. On the Mulanje #2 every time I would do this a different branch would take off and become dominant. It was like musical chairs!

She was looking pretty good until the rain caused everything to flop!
