Nute burn or some type of deficiency

Ok guys, I've been reading the deficiency and bug charts for three days but I'm just more confused. I've talked to every grow shop in my area and now I'm connived these people don't really know about plant life and more so just the products they sell.

This started in about four days ago on a lower leaf and has progressed to 50% of the lower and mid leaves.

Day temp 78
night temp 64ish
Fresh air intake with exhaust fan
1 gal smart pots in roots organic original
1st watering with canna rhizotonic when I transplanted them from their beer cups to 1 gal pots
2nd watering straight water
3rd watering 50% cal-mag
4th watering straight water

almost sure it is nitrogen deficient. what i would do is feed more nutes high in nitrogen. if you decide do it lemme know how it goes. good luck

based on all the deficiency charts, pics and verbiage I can fine I would think its possibly a calcium deficiency but I was leaning towards nute burn sense this showed up after giving cal/mag.

Looks like burn that is leading to lockout.
Give a nice good flush then a VERY mild foliar with some N, this will help to re-stimulate nutrient uptake from the soil.

^ what he said. Flush it with clean filtered water or rain water and check your pH with Litmus strips/drop tester/pH. Make sure you're sitting between 6 & neutral. 6.5 is ideal for soil. And hit it with some House & Garden Magic Green foliar spray or something. Don't feed your plants until you have new mature growth that does not show nute burn. Roots Organic has very rich products, I would definitely recommend feeding anywhere from 1/5-1/3 the amount you've been feeding when you resume feed after your nute burn problem is fixed. Ok guys, I'll proceed with a flush and let you know what happened.

P.S. do you guys ever think about doing one treatment to a half the plants and another treatment to the other half? Just to learn, to say well that was definitely the right choice. Wouldn't have to be half either, could be majority get the fix you most believe in and the others get your second best idea.

I had the same thing. Nute burn. Flushed with PH water and fed a seedling dose of root 66 and suger daddy. All is well. Hope she gets better
. And to flush the plants "will not hurt them" so I would flush them all if their exhibiting the same characteristics. Id say within a 24 hr period you should know if your flush helped.

Any correction in soil will take 5-7 days to show. If it's N def the leaves will green back up. If it's any other nutrient problem the recovery will be expressed in the new growth only!
In hydro the correction will show in 3-5 days.

The soil your using is chock full of nutrition!
From what your listing , your NOT adding nutrients - don't start now. Washing will do almost nothing for you at this point, because you DON'T have a salt build up to wash away!
If you use RO water then add a Cal/Mag at full strength every watering, if not, continue as you are.

The nute burn your getting is from the "hot" soil. Water till you get a pint's worth of "run through"(drain the catch tray) and water again when the soil feels dry when you stick a finger in up to the first knuckle. The situation you have will go away in time - not by washing.

^You can follow his directions and solely use clean water for watering without flushing them. Although I wouldn't 100% agree, one thing you could do to help release some of the extra nutrient you've got in your soil is to use the submersion method of watering as well. Let it soak for about 5 minutes or so before you pull it out. This will allow some nutrient to release from the soil. This is also the best way to water your plants in soil/coco if you don't already do it.

That all makes some sense, I can find valid points in everyones advice. I really appreciate the help everyone! Anyway I already did the flush last night. I put around 3.5 gal through each 1 gal pot.

If the burn is that crazy from this soil have I been led down the wrong path in my soil choice? should I be using a less hot soil?

I also just bought everything for subcools supersoil for my outdoor grow> I'm aware you put the supersoil as the base lawyer and then surround the new plant into a potting soil on top of the supersoil but I was going to just use straight roots original as the top layer potting soil. should I get something more mild. I'm trying to get to the point with my indoor and outdoor that I dont have to feed liquid nutes there whole life, hopefully not at all or just a boost towards the end. Sorry I know kinda a side rant but just trying to learn.

PS I'm going to be getting my well water tested by a lab as I'm concerned that it's been causing the crazy problems I've been having but more then likely it's just cuz i'm a noob.

I'm gonna guess your well water is low in cal/mag. try adding it to every watering and see if it stops. Plus it usually has 2% n To help keep things green

if the roots soil runs hot, which seems to be the general consensus among user then am I going to overdose on N by adding cal/mag to every watering? At least in the beginning while the soil is still nutrient rich?

General consensus on roots organic being to hot is dead WRONG. take it or leave it for what it's worth.

just checked my nots and I used 3 ML Botanicare Cal-Mag per gallon of water. Honeslty I think the spotting may have been on one leaf before the cal-mag feeding. I'm not sure, my days gets mixed up sometimes. Thats why I take notes

Here is an update on the worst plant. Seems like the spreading has stopped. It did end up affecting all 4 strains I have all on different levels. Still not sure if it was a burn or def. Kinda scared to give anything other than water though.
