Super Lemon Haze
Kind of left this one to die on its own, you know.. 4 res changes through the whole 12/12 cycle, power outages, low temps, the USUAL.
It was a good run, nothing to write home about, but I broke in the AT, got a new 3x3 to keep in mind.. and my work load is about to take a seat. May notice I threw in my first Gator Filter, luckily those guys use their heads with the attached hanging mounts, or I wouldnt have gotten it in till after chop, and the last filter was definitely shot. Ive taken two branches down already to look at trichs- probably next weekend. Youll be able to notice the bare spots in the screens. Just about all of it are little thumb sized nugs, gonna be easy trimming. Im looking to stock back up on some butter for edibles so most if not all the trim but the tops will go to that. Slight color shift with the cooler temps and nearing the end, only a select few leaves/buds though... probably catching the cold draft or are less apical? After this round things will be a bit hectic with a few different varieties at hand, and a good portion of tykes that are all about same age/rate.... but so excited to get down to growing some of these... ALL of these, out. (fruity chronic, space queen, super lemon haze, and ace of spades)
The WR is a little tricky but you can make out some of the purple bud under the trichs. My buddy just gave me a puzzled look of wonder when I had told him I get my SLH purple, not like ~60* is GOOD...
The Mix
The soil is going well, Mycelium(sp?) fungi forming over the top, lots of moisture with the lids on- should mix up this fungi layer so they are present in the lower layers of the mix? Or let it be, and process...
Should I toss those 5 gals of dirt back in the mix to cook with everything else? (same rate?) Then thatd put the fuzz at least a little layered... so stoked to see that though. Thinking of ordering smaller pots- just read something that sounds like Forum Folklore, but got me thinking (the 1 gal for 1month of growth, 3 for 3, 5 for 5...) I usually veg no longer than 8 weeks, should I be looking to downgrade to 3's, besides the fact of diameter vs. the cabinet space, (the issue was stated the plants were still finding nutes in the soil towards the harvest flush because they were in oversized pots)
The DIY
And, I just got my second little heatsink rigged up with 730s, still have not recieved any of the other emitters but hopefully before the end of the month Ill have everything in hand. Still have not decided on the whites, still thinking CW or WW, but now thinking just x2 wws for mixing, and x2 more 660s in the CWs place since the AT and 51 are "cooler white based" and id like to fit in as much 660 as I can, gonna have to double check the drivers I ordered.
The second one is definitely much cleaner cut, the first is always a prototype to figure out how you would have done it differently. Just hot glued the wires in place and used the 2-pin connectors from the ProGrow drivers, only have four so Im gonna have to source several more somewhere. Love how much more flexible the Red and Black wire are...
Hooked them up to the KillaWatt meter and the 3 of them draw right at
5.5w, now I am pretty shocked how faint they are lit... worried somethings wrong, but they are drawing a good amount, and your eyes strain after so long... but the hand tesT? I have to be within inches before there is a noticeable hue on my palm. Sooo... am I on the right track? What the hell does the IGs 730s look like? I may have to hit up Positivity, Chron or caretaker and see whats up..
The Other Side
I have been learning how to water the hard way... came out at lights on the other day and saw one of my Ace of Spades bent over touching the dirt... (far right-middle) Gave them a good watering of the tea I brewed a few days ago, dilltuted it 1:1 with RO. Dono if that matters- I had noticed how "chunked" my dirt was after watering with it straight so thought it may help, but I dont want to use straight RO... my hydro brain is telling me id strip good things out little by little.
Right now I think it is every 3 days I am watering, the Space Queen are retaining moisture better for some reason- the AoS was under T5s till recently so I know that helped dry the surface more, but even further down the SQ felt soft. So welcome AoS, enjoy the cold. -_- but look at the node spacing on the Fruity Chronic. Talk about some fun. Already got the heads up that shes a hungry bitch, but this things has exploded in the past two days (res change at 600ppm)
Very excited to get things going,
Be safe everyone!
