Is it necessary to dechlorinate tap water?

Hey, i was wondering what peoples opinions were on letting water sit for 24 hrs to let the chlorine evaporate. A friend gave me some cuts and id like to get the process started and not wait 24 hrs. Is plain tap water ph'd to 6.0 ok for cuttings?

I only use RO and rain water, all my problems stopped and I was letting the chlorine evaporate. I suggest staying away from tap water, especially in hydroponics.

Should i make a trip to the grocery store and get some spring water?

You can bubble the water to dechlorinate it faster and
from what I remember you could boil the water to remove chlorine?

COf,
Spring water is often full of minerals. Water marked "drinking" or "purified" is usually RO water and of course there's distilled which is self explanatory. So avoid spring water unless you know about it's content first.

Regarding tap water. You should get a water report from your city/county. It may use chloramine rather then chlorine. In which case, letting it sit for 24 hours won't do a thing. Chloramine requires more active removal. Aquarium places sell the chemicals needed to treat and dechlorinate water.

taste is characterized by several factors. Its low total dissolved solids and mineral content give it a clean, soft and neutral taste. Its low alkalinity or neutral pH maybe perceived as sweet where a more alkaline water would seem bitter or a more acidic sour tasting water. The natural occurring minerals like potassium, magnesium and calcium also know as electrolytes add to the flavor. That is what the water says

The chlorine needs/should be evaporated if growing 100% organically as it kills the beneficial microbes/bacterial in the organic soil/microherd.
