I'm gonna rep for actually keeping this one out of the politics section.
Your response is ridiculous on several levels. For starters I will just say there is no fuckin way you can explain how specific terpenes change the way cannabis/cannabinoids change the way we experience the effect. I don't get any information from a dispensary... go ahead link to published research on the topic related specifically to cannabis. If you search really really really thoroughly you might find something relating to one terpene but science can not yet explain why they change the effects so noticeably. Dont post B.S. and assume people will believe it."Science can not yet explain why terpenes have such a large impact on how we react to cannabis with the same cannabinoid profile but different terpenes. For instance the lemon pheno of Jack Herer is great for sleep but the cannabinoid profile is nearly identical to other phenos."
Yes we can...maybe not the morons at your local dispensary....
"You can patent all the "organic" cannabinoids you want that are created synthetically in a lab, it will not be the same medicine and the people know it."..
Its the same chemically, even with added terpenes.....we do our best to single out the qualities desired
"Pretty sure you know that poppy tea/codeine is a different animal than the complex interplay of the cannabinoids/terpenes found in cannabis. And, no I did not see where you clearly explained how cannabinoids are not "suitable". You will need more than saying "dose dependent", every cannabis user can figure that out in no time flat intuitively. Again, that is another important part of the very real threat."
I disagree, look into what's all in poppies and how they affect you.. And I said biphasic, you really think anyone can figure it out in "no time flat" lol that's why many have to quit smoking after surgery. I gave the example of peripheral nerve pain. Merely 1 extra hit turns numbness to tingling then intense pain...I know I've experienced it
You can have your views and I'll have mine. But until you yourself work in this industry I prefer my views over something you read. I had never even heard the phrase "big pharma" till I came on riu.. conspiracy theorists use that book to talk crap ..I assume your referring to that as we don't use that term....
Now I'm not going to argue this...like I said you have your views I have mine.
Now That is a good summary of the entire ordeal. When in doubt, it' always about the dollar- The revenue taken in by the states would be gone upon legalization. No one cares that we could easily generate far more if it were legalized. Look at Colorado, for god's sake! Sadly, most states would still rather prosecute minor possession cases and keep their $$ flowing, while fucking us out of our freedom/money for ridiculously trivial offenses. This is fundamentally immoral, greedy and infinitely stupid-I honestly think the reason why cannabis is illegal is due to the fact that way too many people make way too much money from it being illegal. As simple as that.
I agree for the most part, and just to be clear I do not view Doctors and Big Pharma through the same lens. I respect the need for both, it is the profit motive that comes along with being a publicly traded company that can cause problems. What is disappointing is when a Dr. fails to mention CBD to a patient that has severe epilepsy like Dravet Syndrome. Though I do understand that is also a systemic problem and some Doctors are not aware of it. Obviously, that needs to change. The threat from legal cannabis is from lawyers. Doctors want to stay doctors.
(I am not a conspiracy theorist and don't know what book you are referring to? The term "Big Pharma" is used regularly in the financial world, just watch Bloomberg for a few hours.)Yes we can...maybe not the morons at your local dispensary....
NO YOU CAN'T (your silence is golden) see my response below

(This is basically admitting to the point I made. Its the same chemically but the effects are very different... which cannot yet be explained.)
I appreciate doing your best, but that doesn't change the facts.

(My point was that codeine is a single chemical/alkaloid that is extracted and used. While THC and CBD can be isolated and extracted as single elements that have their uses there is a far more complex interplay with the volatile compounds, terpenes, and other cannabinoids that gives cannabis it's therapeutic effects in many cases... yet not explained by science)

If there is published research I would very interested in seeing it...Your response is ridiculous on several levels. Sad but true- booze will probably always be known and accepted by the masses as a "night-cap" or "social lubricant". People are creatures of habit, and old habits die hard. Untill then, I'm vaping a bowl and catching a wave. Peace _~I live in Wisconsin and the local paper just had printed some responses to the question of legalizing "marijuana", one response was from some counselor that said that it was so addicting, the kids were inhaling and holding the smoke in because they needed to get higher, she also went on to say that someone questioned why these kids were allowed to smoke cigarettes, her reply was that " at least it is not pot".
Another gentleman responded that if it were legalized " a bunch of stoners would be causing traffic accidents", he also wet on to say that he enjoys his "occasional" bottle of Budweiser which would have been illegal 100 years ago.
Ignorance and fear were what was used to make it illegal and they are still hurdles today
Thanks dude, glad u like my thread. I find it interesting reading everyone's responses on this subject. Peace, and happy medicating! _~Great thread!!! I just cannot help but wonder where these people come from ... You just cannot make this crap up!
There is the shizz.Simple! It's worth more as an illegal substance, than the Tax dollars stolen from the initial consumer sale of cannabis!
