Not sure if these would fit in your fero, but I recall grownorthern recently released their rebel modules. Seems legit but kinda pricey. Might be worth checking out as an upgrade/fix?
like^^^^................but VERY expensive for 16! /clusters/modules @ 100 pounds a piece:).............still think most of GS's modules still work, just needs new drivers which are dirt cheap==== just match the watts/ma from the old ones. BUT check the "dead" ones first.

I appreciate everyone's input, it only makes sense to fix the fixture. I went ahead and purchased a ballast lumatek 600w with a badass bulb, for now I am trying it out in the small room, if the heat isnt so bad, I will move the af600 into room2 and have the 3 af600s in there... so I ll be able to take my time with the 336x3. I might move her in the vegging tent until I get to it... 8 clusters will still outdo the bs240 and the diamond100 together in the vegging department.

If the heat is bad Ill move the 600w in the bigger room and if again temps are too high I ll run it at 400watts until I fix the 336x3. The 336x3 puts out a lot of heat anyway ...

EDIT ooof already hot in there ... I moved a few fans around we'll see what it's like in 15 minutes... I guess there is no doubt in my mind that a 600w hps puts out a lot more heat than 600w LEDs ... who would have thunk!

Hehe im about to sell my lumatik digital ballast ;)
hehe ... I sure hope I can run it at full intensity in room2, I had to take it out of room1, too hot and my plants were not grown to have a vertical bulb, I was losing too much light, I might have to go get a set of wings for the bulb... but man it puts out a lot of heat!!

Careful with that HPS lamp, Santa, don't go cooking yourself, or your plants ;)
As for your malfunctioning light, hopefully a quick visit to a good electrician will have that Fero glowing like it should.
Good luck, bud.

Ohhh yeah! LOL HPS crank out tons of heat. How big is the room it's in? Also, what kind of exhaust setup do you have in there? Definitely won't be able to cool it just blowing are around in the room.

6 23w cfls put out more heat than my inda gro 420 combo. why does a 330 watt cmh run the same temps as a 250w hps? all 3 indagros put out less heat than 2 badboy 8 bulb t5's. watts has nothing to do with the amount of heat. watts is a measurement of power

more examples

All of the electricity entering a toaster is converted to heat. Since the purpose of a toaster is to produce heat, it is actually 100% efficient at its intended task.

Electric motors are about 90% efficient, that is, 90% of the electric power is converted to mechanical power. Your garbage disposal transforms most of the electric power into grinding carrot peels, the fan motor in your furnace moves air, and so on.

To analyze the efficiency of heat engines like refrigerators or air conditioners, you need to know some thermodynamics.

Ha................you wanna start this again????.........lol

So as I said above ^^^we are on EARTH, so light efficiency aside 600watts hid ==== 600watts led=== 600w cfls====600w t5/t8/t12/pll/etc=====600w Induction====so on and so on

AMPS x VOLTS ====== WATTS............. watt====watt..............for the 35th time:P

1 watt = 1 joule/sec ...............and/or............................. 1 joule = 1 watt/sec

ONE joule is the energy required to heat one gram dry/cool air by 1 degree celcius this shit will never change brother no matter how you spin it. we aren't ignoring physics or the laws of thermodynamics are we???

"energy cannot be created or destroyed"

600 watts(ballast is another 50w) coming out of a ten inch bulb(hps) will FEEL hotter than 600watts of leds spread out over a 3x3 panel (fero 600watt)=====but will raise the ambient room temps exactly the same if they draw the same from the plug.

FACT.......:hump:

heat is wasted energy

why when i ran a 1000w and my fan and ac died in the same day(old place) the room was at 120 degrees

yet 1400 watts of induction / led when i too k the fan down to clean and ran no a/c . the room only went up to 81 degrees.

its about the efficiency of the power and how heat is created not just watts = heat

Energy is converted to either useable light or heat, you left that part out. Same reason MH runs hotter than a HPS, cooling a 600 isn't hard, my ambient rises 8 degrees with a bare bulbs and 5-6 sealed in a 4x4 tent with nothing more than a 6" exhaust fan

GS, I'll trade ya two 51 160w panels for your 600w HPS equip and broken panels. These LEDs just don't have the intensity for all those pretty colors.

are you being facetious? you paid quite a bit for those. You only have vegged with them..

if you are serious. I'll go buy a 600w hps and trade you for a51's

I said light efficiencies aside;-) ,.....still it is a general statement with variables left out, I'm not a professor === just a stoner and crappy indoor gardener.

Well for starters 600W HPS does not equal 600 actual watts of LED. 600W HPS consumes around 700W. And yes in a perfect world it should raise the ambient the same if you are using watt for watt comparisons, however that is not true. Why? Because of efficiency. Also wattage draw is where the comparison stops. There are no gases or anything else reacting in an LED like an HPS. Sorry but he's right. HPS is going to be definitely warmer. I've grown with HPS for years and even a tiny 150W HPS is way hotter than my 190W XGS. Just like a CMH runs cooler than an MH and HPS also runs cooler than the MH.

But again, how big is the room and what's your exhaust setup? Hope you have at least a 6" inline, because depending on the room size and whether or not it's air cooled a 4" probably isn't going to cut it.

Are you serious? I will not do an exchange on the forum for many different reasons... but I certainly want to know why you are not satisfied with your a51s!!? you are not seeing good growth with them? soon or later I was planning on buying a couple more a51s but I am waiting to see results with them. I do wish they were a bit more powerful I mean it would cost you 5000$ if you wanted 1600watts of light ... I wonder if any big licensed producer are growing with LEDs... I love the AF600s...

I am about to go setup the 600w in room2 and take down the 336x3 ... I def. want to fix the 336x3 because it always grew very nice healthy plants regardless of the distance between the light and the canopy.

In the 4x5 room, the temps are usually around 21-22 degrees celsius with the AF600 and with the 600w I pulled the plug at 25 celsius, not sure if it was still going up. I have a 6'' inline fan in there WITH an intake fan so yeah ...

room2 2 has a 8'' fan and more space, ... I can also turn my AF600 down to 75% if it's too hot. I def dont want to go over 24 degrees celsius.
