...anyway, that POS corner piece seems to fail a lot across several brands...I've read somewhere there is a all metal replacement available...I'll look it up if I can remember where I saw it P>S I have the Adviti 4x4 which has that Bullshit plastic corner, whereas the same brand in 36"x20" features an all metal "tripod" corner deal (I got both)

I just received a 4x4x8 lighthouse enclosure and I'm impressed with the bracing. I obviously added extra, which I thought most people did. It has all metal corners in its frame from the factory.

This post should be updated IMO due to lighthouse listening and building better products. You won't find any other 900d tent of the current quality at this price point. Amazon sells for the same price and it gets sent from Gotham and you get amazon coverage.

so far this tent has an 8/10 when I consider my others. Best bang for your buck, especially if you add support to your tent anyway

I dont get the grow tent craze. for 20$ you can build yourself a 10x better set up with stuff from home depot and about an hour of time.

I just set up my 8x4 Lighthouse tent I got it from Amazon for 200 bucks......IMO you can't beat the quality for that price and this is coming from a previous owner of TWO Homebox tents and those things are expensive as hell, i'll take the Lighthouse tent anyday over the Homebox for the price

^I'll be doing this, but really just to play it safe. I have a 5x5x7 lighthousehydro tent. Currently only have my filter hanging off of it and couple 4ft linear fluoros. I am not 100% confident the frame will sturdily hold my blockbuster reflector, but we will see. I'm glad I got I got mine after they made the switch to metal parts. If the frame was plastic on this thing...no way man. The tent isn't perfect, but as an earlier poster said, good bang for your buck.

Do you have a pricing or plans to back that up? I would be interested in seeing the setup for $20.

Plywood in my area is about $30 a sheet, for Birch and 2x4's are maybe $2 - $5/ 8' stick. White paint ~ $30 a gal.

I sat down and did some math once for what I needed and ended up very close to the price as the tent. So for me it was an easy choice for something that is prefab to what I already needed. But Maybe I missed something or over built my design.

Sounds like you are trying to build a room rather then a tent. I didnt use any plywood or fancy material just pvc glue some left over mylar and plastic you double up the mylar and glue it to the plastic...light tight. Honstly the biggest expense was the zipper doors.

Glad you are ok. I installed heavy duty hanging brackets into studs with 150lb rated chains to hang be T5 48. SUPER PARANOID over here.

I built mine and after all was said and done...I spent
$14 on 7-10' lengths of PVC
$25 on 25'x25' Panda Film
$10 on pvc fittings
$8 on Gorilla tape
$24 on brackets for the lights
$8 on chains for the lights

One thing that will always ring true....you get what you pay for. I've got a Secret Jardin DR120....and I've had a 1000W light, 6" fan and large carbon filter all hanging from the roof supports and it never showed any sign of weakness. I'd suggest getting a better tent from a reputable store.

The older Secret Jardins had very weak struts. I have a GroMax that will hold my weight (200 lbs). Not only do those plastic corner brackets look weak, but UV light degrades them over time.

Yeah I am really pissed, if this would have happened while I was at work or sleeping someone could have been killed or my whole house could have burnt to the ground.... it's a real wake up call dont skimp and just buy cheapest thing because it could cost you a LOT more in the long run. Also this tent was less than a year old I bought it back in may.

Unfortunately the " the marijuana grow industry" has become so large that companies will sell anything regardless of it's quality. There is some much competition that companies will sell anything as long as they can get it to market quickly and cheaply. Perhaps I am the idiot but my house is full of junk I have bought that either did not work from the start or broke down shortly after the generous 30-90 day warranty companies provide. I guess the honeymoon days are gone when quality actually counted for something and we must all shop with the old adage Caveat Emptor. I just bought a replacement zipper only to find out that the tape that came with it (even though it was made for this) does'nt work. Oh well back to the old blue tarps sold here at our local Job Lot.

600d fabric and metal connectors, no plastic seem to do the trick. Both my 4x8 and 4x4 are holding up very well. Brand is MTN. Cheap, but good quality for the money.

So I purchased a 2 x 4 lighthouse tent off of Ebay for 99$, same ones you can find here http://www.lighthousehydro.com/ (not to be confused with hydrofarms lighthouse line)

The tent was holding a hydrofarm 8 bulb 4' T5 light fixture which according to their website weighs 28 lbs. A totally acceptable weight. http://www.hydrofarm.com/pb_detail.php?itemid=10653
The bracket that connected the roof bars broke. Sending my light right into my canape. Luckily I was home at the time and heard the noise of it crashing into my babies. I am now fearful that other people may have the same issue and god forbid they have a HID fall down and start a fire. These tents are poorly built and if you are using one please reinforce your roof brackets with duct tape or something.

I have a cheap eBay tent hangin a 600w And inline and carbon filter has plastic corners and is strong as fck I reakon u damaged that corner during ur set up or it was allrdy broken

You aren't the only one who has been suckered into buying complete junk. But to tell you the truth most of the junk I ever bought was from the hydro store because the clerk was running their mouth about how great something was when in reality they probably don't even grow pot.

I bought some ebay cheap leds and an amazon cheap led and you definitely get what you pay for. That said I use the cheapies for veg lights and they work amazingly well and the expensive ones over my flowering gals.

Lots of us suckers out there because we believe when someone says something works that it should work. Unfortunately we don't live in a world of honor and integrity anymore.

I have 1 of those tents it works fine for me for 4 years as a veg tent,the zippers seem sturdy and the vents are light proof.
