just wondering what you guys think is 2000 watts suspicious for large house?
I had no heating last winter and was using electric rads and fan heaters all round the house, my bill was 3 times what it usually would be and there was no problem.Correct me if I'm wrong but an 800w computer will not run at 800w all the time... Same as a fridge freezer, it is only running at its rated wattage when it's chilling
theyre a business so they want your money
if my property had a smart meter (British gas installing them in uk now) then I would not be growing as they see spikes and times of useage etc
This is correct but you just can't think since I have a 1500W toaster or 1200W microwave no one will blink an eye.read the wattage on appliances around your house, might surprise you. like fred said, no one will blink an eye!
I always thought this too. But it really depends on where you live.I'd also like to know what people think about this...
When I'd previously looked into it, people had said as long as you pay your lecky and don't steal it you will be fine
I would be definitely cautious with a smart meter. While only rumor, I have heard that those smart meters can go as far as to identify the type of equipment being used by how the power is being drawn but until you know one way or another, it would be good to be cautious.what if you have one of the smart power meters ?
