First grow EVER. Using auto. Need some advice?

Not sure if anyone could give me any advice or if I'm posting it in the right thread. This is my first grow, so I wanted something easy so I went with feminised autoflowering seeds. I germinated one seed (yes, i only want it for personal use, just one plant at a time, then plant another when the first one is almost done ya know what I mean?).. anyway I germinated one seed, and I planted it in the pot I want it in for the whole grow & covered it with plastic wrap til it sprouts. Its in my closet, got the walls lined with white paper to reflect light because I couldn't find mylar. Bought a timer for 18/6. My question is about the light (of course lol) I bought a 60w sylvania spot gro light. Will that be okay for the beginning at least? I'm really considering CFL's and I understand the whole 6500K for veg and 2700K for flowering. Im just worried about what I have to START out with. I don't want to screw it up from the beginning. Maybe I already have?

when i used cfls i remember always buying more cfls lol i started with 2 bulbs then as the plant grew and i realized the penitration of cfls are limited i was buying more every 4 or 5 days as the plant grew keeping that in mind if you are going cfls then i would get 2 2'x4' t8 or better and bulbs for side lighting cheaper because you can by them a couple at a time but once you add it up you realize should have gone with a 400w hps for 1 plant and you will go thru that plant pretty quick so i would sprout a new one same day as harvest imo. good luck with the grow

That light will okay for a seedling just starting out. I always start my seedlings on CFL's. Personally I use a 23 watt (actual) and that's perfect for her.

Is that 60 watts actual??

get a mix of the 6500/2700 for it all they are auto so they dont care what your lights are on as far as time. say your area is 2x2x6 that is 4 sq feet you want allot of cfl's at leaset 20,000 lumen worth. that is 5000 lumen per sq foot. i would get as much light's as you can in there. the more light means more yield. they have 150-250 watt hps/mh which would do allot better.

they care about using 2700k in veg. plants will stretch more than if you only use 6500k

This applies not only auto flower, regular also

Do you have a 2700k bulb, then you should use it, since you only have 60w
But if you have the money then go for 6500k in veg. and 2700k in flowering

That will be fine to start off with. As FourZeroTwo said I also always start out with CFL's. They are great for the start because the keep your plants short and bushy instead of tall and lanky. However like someone else said, in the flowering stages you might find yourself buying more and more cfl's to get enough light. As he mentioned the penetration isn't great. Luckly you are only growing one plant, so you can have a few bulbs towards the bottom of your plant to light the bottom half, and the top CFL's will keep the top lit.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. I actually have a ASK Cannabis Country page on my website. Link is in the sig.

you want a balance for veg 70% 6500 30% 2700. reverse for flower. mixing lights is great plants love it. you main goal is to have enough for intensity.

Yeah I'm also nervous about having to keep the plants so close to the CFL bulbs too, you don't wanna burn em but you want them to get the intensity. I'm thinking about going with fluorescent bulbs instead like normal (or what I think is normal, maybe its not?) I don't want to make it too complicated at first. I've read a lot of different things but whats consistent is 2700/6500. As I get better & figure out what works for me then I want to start trying different strains and stuff, I bought Sweet Cheese now & I'm hoping it doesn't taste like Cheeto's lol. Do you guys have any opinions on fertilizing?

really? How many bulbs do you have on one plant? That's what confuses me, I'm only trying to grow ONE plant at a time. Everything I read (for CFL's & all the other kinds of lights people use) is for people growing a lot of plants at once. I've read that its better to have your plant surrounded with CFL's than to just get one CFL with the watts you need? I'm sorry to sound like sucha newbie, but some of the articles are really confusing & I'm more of a "layman's terms" kinda person lol.

Thank you guys for answering me! Are you allowed to post pictures of your set up and stuff on here? I supposed I should read the forum rules. I'm actually using a shiffer robe or what some people would call a wardrobe to grow them in (sort of light a closet) and the space is perfect for my one plant. If I didn't want to use CFL's what would you recommend? Sorry to ask so many questions. Like I said, some of these things I read are confusing, one says one thing one says another. and then I guess too it all depends on the persons opinion who wrote it (what they prefer to use). I've read articles that say you can use either light the whole time & you don't need to switch but your plants won't be as good? Maybe I'm over thinking it lol. As long as I'm 6500/2700 I'm good basically?

I have 3 CFLs on my 3 week old plant right now about 2 inches away for the plant and will probably add a 4th later this week they're 23w 6500k bulbs. I'm only growing one plant too waiting for my autos to come in the mail. growweedeasy.com has a bunch of good info on cfl growing and keeping the plants small and bushy for stealth grows like I'm trying to do.
