Airstones in E&G buckets / Root rot issues

What up everyone. Just having some issues here wondering what advice people have to offer. My system is the flow n gro oceanus from titan. 20 buckets on a system i run 5 buckets per line. Ive got a root rot issue that just cropped up when i switched to flowering and i have no idea why. Its only the roots that are sitting in the water at the bottom of the buckets. Has anyone had experience with putting air stones into the individual buckets to get more DO in the water?

The nutes i run are full Heavy 16 line and i feed heisenbergs tea every other week. Tomorrow I am going to buy a ton of airstones to throw in each bucket and try and run wilt guard from cx hydroponics or maybe even try and run zone or h202. Looking for advice on what to do though.

Extra dissolved oxygen has little effect on the condition of roots, if I'm not mistaken. If the rot is bad or gets bad, you can carefully rinse the roots. Then I would suggest running a fair amount of H2O2 (keep in mind this will kill your beneficial bacteria), wait two days, then dose again with the tea. This way you get a light chemical treatment for severe cases, exposing cleaner roots to your organic tea treatment, maybe in the long run helping the tea to work better. And maybe you should lower the tea dose, but make it once a week. More consistent that way. However... there's probably another reason(s) for this. What are your res temps? Any light leaks?

Well what I ended up doing was switching it too water 4x a day. Also running the wilt guard. I think what the problem was when I switched to flower I turned all my lights too 1000s. The heat would be getting as high as 88 in the room which heated up my lines and the water in the buckets up too about 76. This is way too high especially if the water is sitting stagnate for 8 hours between waterings. So switching too water 4x a day and re-doing my ducting and cranking the A/C up brought my temps back down to a more manageable 78. Im hoping keeping the temps down will help subdue the rot and get things back on pace.

As for the tea I think you are right, I need to get back to running it weekly. Seems like it really helps. Going to start a batch tomorrow. My tea is a little different I use the ancient forest/Subculture B/Great white. I also top feed it instead of putting directly in the res I find it is way more effective.

I bet your tea isn't right. Hard to get the ratio of ingredients/sugar right, but once you got a good batch of tea you shouldn't have any root problems. That tea will even eat the dead shit off the roots for ya. I suggest using less sugar, or more ingredients, as that's how I usually fuk up a batch.

I have 2 other guys that work with me and sometimes I wonder if they are doing it wrong. Usually I am the one that brews it. How much molasses are you supposed to use? I usually just eyeball it because measuring molasses is no fun.

Let's just say less molasses is more. As my ingredients run lower and lower I tend to use less and less. Well I always used "about 1 tablespoon" (for 2 gallons) of molasses and one time when I was particularly low on ingredients, at the end of the brew it looked and smelled normal. Next day my roots were turnin quick! Too much molasses.

Another time I wanted to make a really potent brew. Lots of ingredients, but only 1 tablespoon of molasses didn't cut it. At 48 hrs the brew stunk. At least that one never made it into the system! Hah

But when I get that brew right, man oh man new roots start shooting out all sides of the net pot. Mother plants that have been neglected in the back corner start perking up. Roots sitting in stagnate water in the bottom of my aerocloner (which is on a timer) are bright white and healthy. Amazing stuff, that tea.

I heard about this dude who used air pumps to push the air back through the tubes in his Ebb and grow and I was wondering if anyone has tried this?
