Not sure if normal.

I have two types going, one Heavy Weight Fruit Punch and one Royal Queen Power Flower. They are both about 23 days old. The HWFP looks to be drooping a little. But maybe not. I am simply not sure. The RQPF doesn't. But I am not sure if it's just the difference in strains. Or if there is an issue. Any thoughts?

Never a good idea for a noobie or otherwise to grow to strains at once unless you know the strain and its quirks, both look well and watered only comment is I abhor clay pots as they absorb valuable water that I would prefer go to the plant ...lol

Point taken. I actually didn't plan on it. But it worked out that way and I went with it. lol

Good call on the clay pots. I had not thought about that. When I switch I'll go plastic.

If I can ask, these are currently under CFLs 24/7. Would switching them to a 400hps or 600hps when they begin to flower would it be too much stress or change for them to handle?

i would say repot into much bigger pots, 23 days in that small pot i bet is rootbound and soon you will have deficiencies. Repot leave them 1-2 weeks in veg at least and then flower...

23 days in, little container, I agree they need a transplant.
IMO- get some Cal/Mag give it to your plants a couple times a month as a preventative measure.

Good Luck on Your Grow.

Whats the watts?
6 x 45w CFLs @ 5500K

I was kinda hoping to veg with these and switch to HPS for flowering. Mostly due to heat concerns. But I am now, after reading the size comments concerned that I'm being counterproductive. And am a little worried about changing mid veg stage.

Thanks for the input. I had no clue that the roots could get bound so quickly. I already started doing that this morning. I just need to pickup another bag of mix.

Will do. I'll grab it while picking up some other stuff today. Thank you.

No... they will love you for it ...http://www.amazon.com/Apollo-Horticulture-Dimmable-Detachable-Reflector/dp/B00547I5I8/ref=pd_sbs_lg_6 does 400w Mh and 400w HPS at the flick of a switch plus you can dial it down if required, you may need a minimum of 1 square yard or meter to operate a small fan is complusory and venting is optional, tho venting is a must at the 600w level ...good luck "V"

Thanks for the link. That would be better than hanging two different types. I already have a 400w MH I was going to hang this weekend to move from the CFLs. My space is concrete on all sides except the door. And is 50"x70"x9'h. I already have a fan going. But wasn't sure if venting was a must or optional.

I switched pots and lights today. But I'm not sure if the light is any better than the CFLs I was using. Although it's a 400w MH it is lateral, has a bad reflector and is older.

Figured I'd give an update. Here are how things are going since moving to 5 gallon containers. And moving to a 400w mh. I looked back to check exact dates and they went into solo cups on Jan 27th.
