How long do seeds keep?

I got a bunch of seeds from Feb 2012 that I had stashed away in a tin in my drawer. They've been kept in the dark the entire time except for a quick peek at em a few times here n there. They were never in high temps. Probably not higher than 80F-85F in the middle of the summer at the worst. Think they're still good?

I would just germ em and see what happens but I can't start my grow up for another couple months so if it's a long shot expecting these beans to work, I'll just place a seed order now.

Thoughts?

Store your seeds in the fridge or the freezer. In a tin or some other container.
Temperature fluctuation, humidity fluctuation mess with the seeds viability.

They are probably good to go. I just germinated 3 seeds that had been sitting in a tin in a desk since 2010 - all three germinated uneventfully and had radicals showing within 48 hours.

Wow, that's good to hear. I think I'll give these a go then. If they don't work out, oh well...It'll give me some more time to get my room dialed in I guess.
