help with seedlings

Can anybody tell me why my seedlings don't seem to be growing they are nearly 2 weeks old now. I have them under a 400hps light which is in a aero tube, the temp is around 25-27 degrees, my bulb a dual spectrum and I have a digital ballast which does 250-600w

The flash on your camera makes it hard to see a couple of the leaf colors.. tbh I'm no expert but they look good. Maybe just patience?

Your plants should definitely start to veg at 2 weeks, what strain and when/how much are you watering? IMHO in seedling stage you should only water enough to airate the soil and retain the container's metric volume, only in vegitative stage should you water to the point of 30% runoff, otherwise you run the risk of drowning the young root system and eventually root rot.

If your pot drains, try bottom feed by placing it in a tub of water, estimating the volume of water the pot holds accounting for soil. Other possibilities could range from temps and humidity, or your root ball could be too contained. More details and better pics would help.

I was gonna post a new thread with almost the exact same question, so if you don't mind I'll watch yours. Maybe we'll both learn something.

It hasn't been two weeks for us, just 4 days. It seems the two little seedlings unfurled their first true leaves, then they've done nothing but grow a little bit leggier. Actually, one hasn't really unfurled its first true leaves - they're still held together, like hands praying.

One A51 XGS panel set to 65W mode, seedlings moved from Jiffy peat pots to taller pots made of some sort of soft cardboard-like material that's supposed to break down, only giving them a dash of pH-adjusted water when the soil dries on top, no nute supplements.

If those were my seedlings, id have them under a low power CFL. In the first few weeks of growing, the seedling are focusing on growing their root system. Slow growth isn't uncommon. Patience! They look fine!

Roots before Shoots

They're developing roots down below. They will focus on top growth in a few days.

plants use micro vibes in the roots to find there growing area once they know it by growing huge roots they will start and when she does she will take of double in size each day if you give her 4-6 hrs of dark, i suggest you do. then when lights come on you will see huge growth each day. that is why some do it in 3 stages. solo cup/ 1 gallon/ 5 gallon. so they are always growing. but starting in big pot has its advantages. no transplanting stress. be patient dont try and feed her unless its root nutes right now like small amounts of bloom. yes bloom nutes will help root growth. if you gonna train her be ready it wont be long till she starts taking off.

Man, seems like I have to post this all the time. Your seedlings are small because of your pot selection. You didn't bother to transplant them into a solo cup or other small pot first. Seedlings expend almost all their energy putting down roots to support the plant. There will be little or no growth aboveground until the roots pretty much fill the pot. So you wasted a week or 2 while your seedling grows a root system much larger than needed. Start with a small pot that will fill soon with roots. Then TP into a larger pot when your largest leaves reach the rim of the pot. Roots grow about as fast as large leaves so when the largest leaves reach the pot rim you can figure the roots are also filling out. After the roots reach the pot you will start to see inch-a-day growth that marks the vegetative state. Good luck, BigSteve.

you didnt waste anything. when they take off hold on they will keep growing and growing and you wont have transplant shock. so dont worry you did good. here is my C99 in 2.5 gallon pot at day 14 from taking seed out of shipping bag. she didnt do much for 10 days in last 4 day omg in another week she will be allot bigger.
