Better tent size? 2 X 4 or 3 X 3

Hi again,

I have decided to get a Hydrohut Silver Edition grow tent, but I can't decide on what would be a better size. I'm only growing a few plants for my own personal use and so these two options would be the max size I would go with -plus, my ceiling height jussst barely accommodates the 78" height of each.

Can any of you tent veterans lend me some insights to what might be the advantages and disadvantages of each size? I'm thinking that the 3 X 3 might allow a better option or a small scrog of a single plant…but, the 2 X 4 seems like it might be easier access to see and work on the plants without having to reach too far.

Advice please! :)

Thanks!

It's really preference but I would go with the 3x3. I don't think its any harder to access than a 2x4. It fits 1 or 2 plants very nicely through flower, or 4-5 vegging plants which is what I use my 3x3 for. I wouldn't trade it for a 2x4.

Depends on ur needs my friend! IMO the 3x3 is more efficient shape to get the best use from ur light whereas the 2x4 would be easier to stash nonchalantly on the side of a wall and allows slightly easier access like u say. I would get the 3x3 as well cuz I personally would go for efficiency. My 2 cents peace and happy growing, Blitz

Thanks for the responses!

And what size containers would be best for these sizes of tents? 5 gallon? 10 gallon?

I'm going to be using organic super soil and Area 51 LED.

Thanks again!

AWESOME! That's the kind of thing I love to learn about! Those Air Pots looks like just the thing! Thank you!

No problem, not only do they use less soil but most claim 20-30% increase in yield.

This video explains it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NUjNBKex0I

I just started using them but already am loving them. The only downside is they dry out faster obviously, and you have to water very slowly, let it soak in. Having them in a pan to catch the water saves a lot of headache. But these minor issues are worth the gain for sure.
