I was wondering, will an autoflower work pretty well outdoors? I heard some people saying the KC-45 only flowers when the root hits the container bottom. But some said that was not true. The main reason I want to do an auto, is because I can get 2 harvests outdoors. One to save a male and pollinate a female for seed. And one harvest to smoke.
Any input would be much appreciated, also good beginner outdoor strain recommendations are certainly welcome. Thank you!
I can tell you 10 out of 10 of my KC-45s
did not autoflower on me last year in ground. They went through a full summer veg cycle and flowered just like a photo plant. In containers who knows? I actually got tired of waiting for them to even show sex so I abandoned them and just came back to see em out of curiosity. The females were totally seeded and some of the males were left standing still. So I have enough second generations to seed the world with.
So it's either the auto trait isn't locked in on them . I've read a couple sites say the strains like 50% ruderalis and mostly sativa. Which kinda tells me it was a lazy attempt to make a quick buck and someone just did some pollen chucking with ruderals and labeled it auto.
Ooooooorrrrr there was some sort of mix up and I was sent the wrong beans with that order. Which isn't out of the real of possibility. I just find it unlikely.
I'm honestly considering buying another pack just to debunk this whole pot nonsense and making a very detailed journal for the folks here. Taking a half gallon, one gallon, 2 gallon, 3 gallon 4 gallon pot along with a 5 gallon bucket and see if any of them flower when the taproot "hits the bottom"
Regardless in my case I was out 15 bucks but in turn got a few hundred beans to chuck around this year for laughs as a side project. I look at it as a case of you pay for what you get.
I would suggest lurking around the auto forums and doing a lot of reading there.
Personally I'm going to go with Dutch Passion's Auto Mazar and Think Different this time around for an early crop. So that way I have a mix of Indi and Sati.
THC Bomb will do you good though. I ran it last year and was very happy with it. I suggest leaving a plant or 2 to flower much longer than the others. Let it get loads of amber. You'll thank me later. I may run it again this year but I'm for sure going to run their Kush Bomb and Cluster Bomb.
THC Bomb grows well. It's a tough little plant and holds up to shitty weather. They also like topping and take to cloning very well too. Bomb seeds have also released an Auto version of their THC Bomb plant as well that's not the Auto Bomb original strain. Auto Bomb was labeled under "dwarf" on a few sites so I stayed away from it. The Auto THC Bomb looks pretty tempting to try as well. I haven't stumbled on any grow journals here on it yet. I really don't wanna google Auto Bomb and end up posting here in Legal Edge from Gitmo a week later lol.
