I'm starting to think I like growing bud more than smoking it...

the humans ingrained desire to create new life.. interesting theory!
Yep, a theory, but it makes sense to me. The most fulfilling things in life seem to involve creation of some kind. Breathing life into plants, making music or art.. It also doesn't hurt that MJ happens to also be very valuable :)

When I clone... It is starting a new life from a cutting...
It seven days it will be alive...
I made a plant, I made 200 plants...
500 grams started from a cutting... nothing to something...
It's very rewarding...
I get it...
And... BTW... I ain't giving up either... ever...
It kinda makes you feel like Father Nature haha... I'm right there with you though, never gonna stop. I made sure my wife knew beforehand that this is not a phase, I will be wrinkly, grey, and still growin green.

When I take breaks from growing. Like I am now. I feel a little dead inside. Like a piece of me is missing.
I feel for ya bro.. It does kind of become a part of you in a way, they're like your children. I'm moving in August so I can fit in 2 more cycles before we have to pack up so I'm tryin to stock up now. I will only be plant-less for a little bit, but even disrupting my perpetual grow for a few weeks sucks.

I've popped beans in response to being stressed out the same way I'd grab a drink.
I'm running lights at night and I miss being able to just peak in on the girls during the day.

I'm pretty sure I'm only into cultivating for the end game.

Yeah, I love watching a tiny seed go from nothing to a plant in bloom as much as the next guy, but the back left corner of my garden is littered with the rotting carcases of dead common house plants I forgot to water/feed. Had they started spouting miniature bottles of malt whisky or dollar bills at every node, I'm convinced most of them would've still been alive today.

I tried the night cycle once too and hated it for that same reason (guessing your getting too cold winter nights huh?).. I'm always tinkering with them, either with LST, or trimming some dead fan leaves, and my night time green light just doesn't cut it..

I wish I had the room to just pop beans when I'm stressed haha.

Lol, that is pretty funny and I do see where your coming from. It is pretty badass that you can just grow pounds of dank bud that is worth thousands of dollars.

Me on the other hand though... My entire house is filled to the brim with every plant you can imagine haha, I am kind of a plant nerd. All given the same attention I give to my MJ..

But I also grow a lot of bonsai, which can also be quite lucrative. I make a good bit of money off those as well.

Some are in it for the buds, and then there are just plant people, to each his own! I like everything green :D

That'd be the reason. I still need a space heater during the lights out period but I can get through the night by having my intake through my light. On the plus side I'm reasonably certain my temps will be ok during the summer. I just hope humidity is.
I also love gardening and give the same love to my vegetables and flowers as my pot plants.

Luckily my winter grow temps are perfect, even running lights during the day. My night temps never dip below 50 and never above 75 during the day... I kind of prefer winter grows because I get such vibrant colors.

I feel bad for people that never get into gardening.. None of my friends are, and younger people tend to have no interest in it, but its such a rewarding part of life.

Going to check on some dj shorts seeds right now that I hope are ready for dirt. ;) I feel like plants give off a positive energy. It's simply therapeutic to be with them, I love my job and what I do, not to mention all the people you can help! I could chill and smoke with my plants all day, smoking them or not they are still great but I prefer to put them to use. ;) Have a good day all.

Therapeutic for sure, there are actually plant therapists out there that use plants to help with their patients. I think there is a lot more to plants than we have yet to discover. They're definitely intelligent which that alone blows my mind.

Good luck with your next round, I've always wanted to try DJ shorts gear. Im running Dutch Passions Blueberry right now which was apparently gifted to them by DJ Short.

I definetly get more pleasure seeing someone get baked and raving about what i grew than me. Also after a few years you become SOOOOO picky with weed people think your a snob.
I truly think once you start growing weed you realize where the adiction really is, I find myself addicted to growing much more than i am addicted to smoking it.
There is something special about creating a controlled artificial environment where plants can thrive and ensuring the success of that process.

Thing is, the seeds are reg so I'm crossing my fingers. It was only like $50 for two and two freebies. Anyone know anything about a strain called tiawana? Also can someone point me in the direction of a thread where people share pictures of their plants? That'd be cool.

It depends on what you want to do exactly but you could post a grow journal, or just start a new thread in the general section.

Also, if I may give you a little suggestion, your plants look healthy but they are stretching quite a bit. It looks like you might have your light too far from the plants, with the exception of those few buds which are way too close to the lamp lol. At least in that picture that's how it seems.

Ya that's an unruly sativa I'm trying to control. Right now I have a 600 and two 1000s I do have a lot to learn.

I thought I was the only one who liked growing more than smoking. It feels good to create something that you cam be proud of and that brings joy to so many people. Its also a great hobby to try and perfect all the various strains and techniques. I think my favorite part of growing is rubbing some triches on my fingers and getting a fresh whiff of fruity diesel. Its just mot the same smell once its cured.

Your not alone it seems haha. There is an endless amount of strains and growing methods, it just ever gets old. I feel like buds usually smell fruitier on the plant as opposed to post cure. Not always though. There is def a big difference between the two though.
