Harlequin Plants

I now am growing 12 Harlequin plants. I got the clones from the group in Colorado that are trying to spread the "cure". They are supposed to be high in CBDs. I hope so. Many MM patients need access to these high CBD plants.
I'm in day 11 under the 1000 w HPS lights and fox farm ferts. They are fast growing. Here is one pic of a bud of 11 days.
_harliquin1_9748.jpgI also have a problem with a few twisted leaves. Haven't seen any aphids or anything else. This is what they look like._Harliquin_twisted_leaves_9757.jpg

The light is 18-20 away from the tops. I hope to find out about this soon.

I'll try and keep this posting up on these Harlequin ladies. Later

awesome! the twisted leaves could be anything from strain characteristics to TMV. they dont look bad at all though so don't worry.

Cannabis does not get Tobacco Mosaic Virus. TMV is species specific.

I think it has something to do with strain, My Harlequins also do the twist, not sure why. They also seem to want a lot of nutes, especially N.

looked up cross species TMV on Google and this was the first link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tobacco_mosaic_virus

affects 125 different species ranging from tobacco (the name) to tomatoes and cannabis.
wrong try reading the wikpedia article:

Tobacco mosaic virus
(TMV) is a positive-sense single stranded RNA virus that infects plants, especially tobacco and other members of the family Solanaceae.

Cannabis IS NOT a member of the solanaceae family. In fact its not even mentioned on that wikpedia page.

There are a lot of people saying that they have TMV on cannabis but they are wrong. Show me a case where somebody has actually verified serological TMV infection.

The article does not in fact mention cannabis, glad you read the article. It also says in the article it affects 9 plant families, not just peppers.

How often do you think that pathology labs would be willing to accept an illegal drug sample to run for their friends? It's hard to imagine an actual verified lab report of TMV in cannabis, lack of evidence is not reason for dismissal.

Ive had TMV on my tomato plants before and in the same week a couple of mothers of mine started showing the mosaic leaf squiggles and flops, then they slowly died in about a month. I cant positively say it was TMV on the cannabis, but I have a firm suspicion.

Perhaps you could show ME a case comparison between TMV in cannabis and tomatoes.

Lavender Lady, I apologize for messing up your thread, I do not think there is anything wrong with your plants, it looks like a characteristic of Harlequin, although I have no personal experience with it.

Thanks for the interesting conversation. I have seen this twisting before on an outdoor grow that went to harvest. It did cut down on the harvest and not every plant got it. I sprayed that time with neem and ruined the taste of my grow. Won't do that again. Would be nice to figure this out tho.

My harlequin - same place you got yours, do the same thing. TMV was the first thing I thought of (vaporizer), but after checking my run off the PH was a bit low - 5.6. After flushing for a bit they everything started to go back normal. I grow in Coco, and try to keep my PH around 5.8-6.0 but harlequin seems to prefer it a bit higher.

The "high" is very cerebral and very clear. The CBDs kick in after a bit and lower it some. Save your leaves, even in veg when trimming and use them to make a tea. She has THC and CBD in her leaves even in veg stage. You also want to harvest her right at 8 weeks. The CBD content begins to drop considerably after that point. If you take her a little early the THC content seems to be allot more psychoactive.

Thanks for your words and encouragement and your experience with the Harlequin. Maybe we've got the same genetics with our Harlequin twist. Have not found my ph meter yet. Hate to buy a new one, but I check that today. The ladies are growing rapidly, in soil. When you harvested, were the tricomes golden or clear whe you took the flowere?

I've got a new (clone/mother) growing and will be taking cuttings within a week. My Dr has given me a recomendation for 24 plants. I can't grow 24 to harvest but I can start clones and give them to those who have the need for this kinds of cannabis.

From your pics I would say its harlequin :leaf:
Harlequin can have from 7-10.5% CBD based on various factors.

Twisted leaves are something this geno does occasionally
Harvest at 60 days. Let it go longer and the THC% is said to rise.

When I harvest at 8 weeks exactly they are mostly cloudy, but tend to turn amber during the curing process. I have taken them a week early and the high is generally more psychoactive. Just depends on what you are after. Take it early and it's great for sleep. You can also make a salve out it, I use olive oil and cook it in a slow cooker on low for about 4-5 hours. 1 cup bud/leaves/trim to 2 cups oil. This will not get you high, but works great for pain, sore muscles etc. Put it into the fridge and it will harden up into a thick mixture.

If you want you can then decarb the oil it in the oven - 250 for 10-15 minutes and it will tend not to harden up so much and will get you high. Great for cooking!

I give away lots of clones of her. Trying to get it passed around as much as possible. But most people want higher THC plants.

Hi, I'm new here so if this is widely known info I apologize, but I'm looking for harlequin clones and I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction? I'm in the front range area if that makes a difference. Thanks :)
