I have a plant thats 30 days in veg and Im going to switch over to flower. How many clones does it look like I can get from this plant?

One good one, the top. I usually just like to take large cuttings long enough to get a stripped node into the cube, but you could probably get those 4 small side shoots from the bottom to root as well.

Each branch is a "possible" clone, generally, the older the branch, the better the candidate for cloning. You generally want the branches to have a couple or a few "nodes".
some folks will only clone plants that have gone through the cycle of budding and revegging, but, I have not discovered why this is so unless it is to remove possibility of hermaphroditism?

thats quite possible. I took about 10 cuttings from my bubba mother and now in the 3rd week of flower; she hermied. The best clone is as tall as her and hasnt shown any nuts, but im not gonna rule it out.
Gonna be pissed if they all herm.
But to the OP. You'd be able to get the bottom 6 shoots for clones. The bottom 4 def dont look like theyll get adequate light to produce some hefty buds.

Not to get into a dispute, clones grow slower than F1 hybrids. However since clones are already sexed, this makes flowering clones a bit faster.

Id only take 2 clones off that plant. Definitly the 2 most bottom ones, you want the youngest softest branches possible, not the woody older hard ones. Its such a small plant that I wouldnt take more then that. Once in bloom for 2 weeks id get rid of the other larf branches at the bottom.

The bottom two branches will be the oldest on the plant and also the woodiest (if thats even a word). I personally would take one clone, the top, and let the bottom branches grow creating more spots for cuts later on.

Sorry bro if i hurt your feelings but i just read through your posts and you post nothing about growing just Bullshit jibberjabber...The OP wants to take clones and stick the plant directly into bloom, if he takes the top as clone he will ruin the plant if he sticks it directly in bloom. The top grows fresh growth but the bottom branches that ARENT woody or hard are better choice for the OP situation. To say the bottom branches are the oldest is total nonsense. The top is what grows first out of the seed besides starter leaves. On clones the bottom branches arent even growing yet, just the top of the clone which is the top of the plant making it the OLDEST part of plant but does have fresh new growth but OP wants to know about branches not the top. Jimmy you do it your way and ill do it my way, either way im sure is right as long as clones are rooting and finished plants arent ruined structurally by taking clones at wrong place at the wrong time, like taking top as clone and sticking immediatly into bloom.

I guess yours right. The op did ask how many clones not whats the best clone. If you want 4 shitty one node clones go ahead and take the bottom branches and flower the top 2-3 branches and enjoy your giant harvest.

Nodes or no nodes doesnt matter, i get roots from clones with no nodes even though its not ideal. Why take the best part of this guys plants right before budding. The OP didnt grow bushes or trees, hes got single cola dominant plant and he wants to go into bloom now. Taking the top as a clone on the plant the OP showed and then immediatly put into bloom would ruin the plant with the style OP is growing. Jimmyjibberjabber likes to clone off the tops which is fine if you give the plant enough veg time to fill back in before bloom but i never take the top as clone. I always top early with in first couple nodes showing and top again usually to have lots of tops if it doesnt bush out after first topping. This gives me more branches to clone then you would know what to do with at the bottom.

Taken directly from Marijuana Horticulture - The indoor/outdoor Medical growers bible- there is a picture on page 33 of a drawn plant, in the picture, the plant has 6 branches on each side. The portion of the plant that is labeled most difficult to root, is the top 2 branches and the apical meristem(top of the plant). The easiest branches to root as they have labeled would be the bottom branches. Indoor growers oft times do not ever get to see a 6-8 month old plant, so would not know that plants end up with woodier bottom branches as they get more mature. These bottom woodier branches are easiest to root as they have the newest growth hormones.

Wtf is wrong with you. Dont shit on the OP for asking a question. You'd be the 1 to flower that lil plant. If he cloned the whole damn plant; he'd come out with a better yield. Each "shitty" one will be its own plant and produce more than it would have on the mother. The bottom branches will not get sufficient light and will most likely produce unwanted/undesired popcorn bud. By cloning those, they will be "tops" and achieve optimum results since they will receive much more light. Stop being a fuckin dick.

@highness I seen Ed Rosenthal Popsicle clone an entire plant..... Sea of green it... Amaaaaaaazing results. The problem was/is getting busted with 52million plants.....

The point of cloning for me is to have nice sized plants with a head start. By the time you get those little branches to root and create new growth you could have started from seed and had bigger plants.

Uh..... I don't know about anyone else here.... I get roots in 7 days, it'd take me 3 weeks to get a plant that big from seed, and the plant would still be 50/50chance of being male, not to mention the fact that you'd be hard pressed sexing a 3 week old seedling, while at3 weeks , I know what I got........
