Can you guys do me a favor and just post up your electric bill costs?

Hopefully soon im going to set up a nice little grow room with three 400watt cmh's, a self made hydro system, and a petite air system, Can anyone give me a ball park estimate of the cost this might come to be?

Also something like a ballpark estimate of how much you payed before you grew, than how much after you started growing would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If you do the math you can calculate it yourself, everything you need will be on your bill. The rest of the info will be on your lighting equipment. But if you need to know, my bill is around $60 a month.

$60 doesn't seems like a good deal. Would you mind describing the equipment you are using and how many watts your lighting system is? Thanks.

Between my op which is only cfls, several computers running 24/7, household normal daily usage, fishtanks(including the lights, pumps, filters and heaters), and heatpump. It adds up quick.

Sorry, I meant $60 seems like a pretty good deal. I was afraid having a few CFLs running 18hrs a day might more than double my monthly electric bill. Apparently that's not the case.

Easier for you to calculate it yourself to be honest (and more accurate) Depending on how your room is set up you could probably run your lights at night (off peak when its cheaper)

Generally speaking:
1) get the price you pay per KwH or energy. (roughly 10.2cents/Kwh in America...im not form the US so this is only from a quick google search)
2) multiply hours the lights will be on for x the number of days. (example= 18 x 30= 540hours per month)
3) multiply hours by wattage (540hours x 400watts= 216000 watt hours)
4) divide watt hours by 1000 to get Kwh (216, 000 / 1000 = 216 Kwh)
5) multiply Kwh by price (216 x 10.2 = $21.6 for 30 days at at 18 hour cycle)

I generally look at $0.10 kWh average or so, which makes math easy too. 360kWh per month for a 1000w lamp, so figure with 3 400watters you got 1200 watts plus another 120 watts of ballast power and lets say another 50 watts for all the other accessories/pumps/timers/whatever. I'd peg you at about $45-$55/month for your electricity usage of the grow operation alone. Pretty good return on investment, eh? :)
