fan smells like something burning

Has anyone ever experienced this? I have a Lasko 6inch clip on fan and ever since they've been running it smells like something is being burnt. They work fine, just smell. Any input? Think it is anything harmful?

Throw them out and get new fans. The smell of burning doesn't seem good.

They burn out all the time. Constantly needing and buying new shit is just part of the game.

yeah i had it with a fan a while ago it packed in 4 days later was only 5 months old the constant use fucks them up and the motors die i now use high cfm computer case fans no fan nose and they las for ever i suspend 3 f them over the canopy the 4 screw holes come in handy for this

Is the fan new? Some electronics and motors have that weird new smell to it.

yes, they are brand new. if they were older id assume it is just burning out. but these are fresh out of the box.
