I think I killed my babies, lesson learned

I got spider mites, so I tried the habanero water spray solution in my stealth cab.

But... I had been drinking and a little smoke, so did something stupid, I forgot to let the water cool down. I sprayed the solution right after taking it off the stove (hot water)

I'll get some pics soon, but damn, they were just about ready to switch to flower...

Anyways it was a unknown strain, so I just ordered some white widow big bud x. I want to do some adjustments to my grow box anyways, so lesson learned.

(Still crying)

It was not boiling, but was hot

I have about 10 days until my new seeds get here, so I'll give them a few days to see if they survive. They look horrible though :(

Sorry buddy, that really sucks. Friends don't let friends garden drunk. I remember going into my garden the next day after a night of drinking and there was dirt everywhere, I have no idea what happened. My story isn't nearly as tragic but the lesson is the same.

I also heard of a guy who walked into some drunk chick using on of his girls like a bush outside if you catch my drift... she was peeing on his plants.

Spraying against mite-infested plants typically causes major issues to plants, but for the most part, they will recover.

Show your pics, but even without, I'm sure they'll come back to life... albeit they'll be stunted.

did you spray cool water on them at all? The mites usaly are not on top of the leaves, but under the blades, I helped a friend spray down 120 6ft outdoor plants, that was a fukn nightmare. but we got most of em!! the cold weater killed the rest off come bud time. then the dea killed the rest, oh ya and all the plants. but water sprayed at high velocity they could do with..... Cool water, lol

I bet they come back, rinse off the hott pepper shit!! probably whats doing 1/2 the damage there? just a guess

WHEW! You smoked them somehow my friend. Boiling hot water COULD do that but you'd have to be fucked up to put boiling water on yer roots.

Next time take it easy on the nutes.

Sativia Indica Shits will derail your grow immediately so be careful there.

Haha. Classic. Check out my signature.

But anyway, I was going to stay out of the mite aspect of this because I didn't want to add insult to injury and tell the poor guy that not only did he hurt his plants, he probably didn't kill the mites either.

Mites thrive in dry environments and don't like humidity. So yeah, they don't really like getting sprayed with hot pepper water, or cool sugar water, or tepid salt water, or 62 degree water with koolaid in it. They don't like water. And from what I know about mites, pepper water is not going to kill the infestation. Maybe they were Mexican mites and they actually prefer the spicy water.

I did some research on the pepper water for my own learning because this is the first I heard of using spices to deal with indoor grower's greatest threat?!?! Other then a bunch of online growing forums where anyone can say literally anything, I found one article in the SF Chronicle that vaguely eluded it might help.

These type of feel-good, hippie cures don't work on mites, aphids maybe, but not mites.

Mites are tenacious little fuckers that take weeks to get rid of once they dug in their heels, even under good conditions.

Next time try Mighty Wash, even then dilute it by half and be sparing. It can make some leaves curled and damaged but she'll recover, and it beats the fuck out of mites.

But hey, everyone is more then welcome to spray whatever they want on their own plants. Just stay away from mine with that spicy water bull shit :p

lol!!

so that being said, probably easier to get some pest strips and hang em around your room. oh yea and your sig. lol!!!!

Ha! Thanks.

While we are on the topic ladybugs DO NOT eat spider mites either!!!!

I know mites. Trust me. I've been through the ringers with those relentless assholes and have no ideals about being "organic" in my response. Fucking nuke 'em!!!!

Growing is a very double edged stores. It was my buddies at the hydro stores that turned me on to the really good stuff they don't even sell there. We all talk organics out of one side of our mouths, and will do literally anything to save our crops if we have to.

The difference between you and myself, is that I know when to keep my mouth shut.

There are a ton of people on here that post pictures of plant problems that I would like to help them with, but it is really difficult. Soil science and chemistry is actually fairly complicated. We are not adding salt to soup here.

So I'll go "fuk" myself, and you can continue to make a fool of yourself.

You know nothing about:

pH
Botany
Soil Science
horticulture

But you must have a Big Dick because you keep tripping on it and busting your nose on the pavement.

If I were you I would shut up, read more, type less.

ohhhh shittt lmfao lollll!!!! even tho i dont give a fuk what you think, you make me laugh!! especially when I check out your grow. hhaaa every time I need a good laugh, I just click your current grow link haaa!!

Anybody have luck with pyrethrum bombs on spider mites? I like the stuff but have never used it on mites. My only spider mite experience ended with me abandoning the grow room!

I sprayed them with plain water already, they are still toast.

Chalked it up as a learning experience.

I learned a lot with some things I should have done different and design changes to my grow box I need to do anyways.

Looking forward to getting the new seeds I ordered, and not giving up.
