SEATAC — As supporters of a $15 minimum wage for workers in and around Seattle-Tacoma International Airport declared victory Tuesday, opponents made clear the fight is far from over.

Common Sense SeaTac, a business-backed political committee opposed to SeaTac Proposition 1’s $15 minimum wage, said it will ask for a recount by hand to ensure “the most accurate possible” results.
The announcement came on the same day the King County Canvassing Board ruled that Proposition 1 officially won by 77 votes out of 6,003.

Personally, I'm loving this little progressive socialist experiment.

Predictions:

Local businesses will have to lay off workers, cut back hours, or worse yet, be forced to close.
Any future commercial development will grind to a halt.
Businesses that initially survive, won't be able to compete with companies in surrounding towns and cities.

And when it all fails, which it will, it will never be the fault of the lefts looney pie in the sky politics.
Socialism is the idea that people directly control the product of their labor, so there is nothing socialist about this. Australia has a $15 an hour minimum wage. Please regurgitate more right wing crap you heard on the radio, we love it.

You're like most lefties I know, emotions get the best of you and you react off them.

With that said, please point out where I said it was socialism.
Calling you loons progressive socialists (which you are) is far from calling this foolish and irresponsible experiment socialism, although it could be argued that it's a step in that direction.

Pro Tip: Try and keep your emotions in check, at least until you're finished reading what someone has to say.

You called it a progressive socialist experiment. Socialists are for the establishment of socialism. Get a fucking brain.

Did you think the, get a brain insult really bolstered your pathetic argument?

Socialism is an economic theory with many political and economic components.
A progressive socialist is a person that strives for socialism.

The experiment in itself was brought upon by progressive socialists.

When a government institutes a law that forces private business to pay a living wage, that is a government practicing wealth redistribution. Now, are you going to tell wealth redistribution is not part of socialism?

"Socialism" is about THE SOCIETY (read as The State) controlling the product of your labours, not the individual labourer.

please stop regurgitating the crap you heard about Socialism at your drum circle, it's bullshit.

Isn't what God talks about one of the 12 steps in communist utopia theory?

no, his ideology is a mishmash of yippie fantasy, lenninism, maoism and trotskyism, liberally sprinkled with liberalism and progressivism, served in a tall glass of self-satisfaction with a garnish of smug derision.

it's the standard cocktail of the farthest left wing of the democrat party.

I was right.
Marx's theory of alienation said:
the purpose of the communist system of
industrial production will be determined by the
collective requirements of society, not by the
profit-oriented demands of an individualistic
bourgeois social class who live at the expense of
the greater society. Under the collective
ownership of the means of production, the
relation of each worker to the mode of
production will be identical, and will have the
social character that corresponds to the universal
interests of the communist society. Therefore, the
direct distribution of the profits generated by the
labour of each worker — to fulfil the interests of
the working class, and so to his and her own
interest and benefit — will constitute an un-
alienated state of labour conditions, which
restores to the worker the fullest exercise and
determination of his and her human nature.

I was right.
but he doesnt actually adopt he backbone of Marx's theories, violent proletarian revolution, cuz that shit just isnt selling.

thus Marx's ideology is re-branded in a fancy new package, with Marx's picture no longer in evidence on the label.

it's Crypto-Marxism swaddled in feelgood rhetoric and plastered with more various brand names than a nascar driver's fire suit.

when one label gets discredited, they just peel it off, and point to a different label, pretending they are all so radically distinct from each other, when the truth is, they are all just the same tired old Marxism.

Call it whatever you want, but it's just different versions of bankster control. That's what we need to change

If we can come up with an idea to eliminate the world's federal reserve banking system I'm all for it. I can't think of any, but that doesn't mean it's not possible. How do we get banks to voluntarily give up the control when government policies continue feeding the pig?

My prediction is that business will go on as usual, the owners of the retail space will take home slightly less money, prices will go slightly up on goods and those making $15/hr will have a better livelihood, and will likely be more willing to spend money that they did not have before, increasing the demand for more goods, in turn more stores, in turn more jobs.

But we shall see.... everything right now is pure speculation.
