Smoking Boveda cured buds.

I've found that when your buds are cured and stored with 62%BP's in jars they tend to be a little on the moist side. I've started to take a little bud out of the jar and put it into a very small airtight container then burp it for about 15min. at a time, 2 or 3 times a day, for a day to a day and a half. This seems to increase the smell and taste a little and leaves it dried out more for better smoking.

I noticed that with my summer grow last year the boveda packs dried out my buds a little more then I liked... Were still great smoke. I also used 2 medium sized bovedas in a 1 quart jar.. what did you do?

I've noticed with running multiple strains with the boveda packs that some strains smoke just fine out of the jar and some strains are a little too moist to burn just right. Usually the more dense buds are the ones that are too moist, even when all jars are at 62 percent.

I use 3 to 4 packs in 1/2gal jars. It might also depend on the temps that the jars are being stored at. And yes, I have definitely noticed the difference between the tight buds and the fluffier ones. All my buds will smoke fine straight out of the jars, I just like the way they taste and smoke when dried a little more. A purely personal choice, but I thought if anyone hasn't tried this yet you might like it.

I can understand using humidity packs to store weed for over 6 months to a year but for everyday smoking, it's overkill. People have been drying and jarring weed without boveda just fine.

You may be retaining important humidity levels that keep the bud fresh even when you are smoking whatever jar you are smoking... Anyways, it's early and what do I know, lol. But I do smoke cigars and if anyone out there does we all know how important the humidity levels are for the cigars, I only assume our cannabis is the same. We are all aficionados in our own way in this hobby and I like the idea of curing and aging our cannabis like that.

I've used the boveda with 4 different strains so far and I think they smoke great out of the jar. They don't grind so well cuz they're kinda gooey, so rolling joints isn't very feasible. I smoke bowls however and scissor my buds which works great for me. It makes a huge difference to me when you're getting to the end of a personal jar, normally the bud is getting kinda crispy by then but no more!
