Hi everybody. I am a first-time grower. I researched a lot and come up with a decent set up. At least in my eyes. There is always room for improvement.
I bought a 4h x 2d x 5h Grow tent, a 400 W MH and HPS light, and two small oscillating fans that I removed the stand on and am using as an intake and exhaust. The temp stays a constant 75°. My humidity is usually low at about 20 or 30%.
I don't get to spend much time with the plants so I carefully researched and made my own medium mix. I used 20% miracle grow moisture lock, 20% vermiculite, and 60% coco. I Germany all my seeds in rockwool and place them in this mix. I figure the blend of all these elements should keep me from waterlogging or drowning the roots while at the same time keeping moisture in the soil just in case I don't get to see them for a while. I also figured the soil would give them some nutrients when they are seedlings.
The first picture is of my Maui Waui strain. It is five days old.
The second is of the three plants I have after they've been transplanted. I transplanted them two days ago.
The third and last pictures are a random strain. It is a week and a half old. I was concerned at first because the lower leaves had white veins. After I transplanted them it seemed to go away for the most part. I think it just may have been the branches growing and stretching. Any ideas?
The fourth picture, which I think is the most interesting, is another random. It is two weeks old. I nutrient burnt this one when it was very young. Only had the set of those little round leave after it sprouted. It also burnt the growth tips on the newest leaves which you can see by the missing tips. They are now the bottom leaves. The weird thing is right now it sprouted 16 new leaf tips out of the top. It is also only about an inch and a half high. I think the nute burn might have stunted growth. After I flushed it, it started to grow like crazy. I was thinking about trimming those little round leaves off. There is only about a half of leaf left. The rest of the leaf is yellow and brown burnt real bad. Think it is safe or will it do more harm than good?
Any insight, tips, hints, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
