Do i trim bottom buds if getting no light?

So my girls are 4 weeks into flower, they are all quite tall now and hoping they dont grow too much more as they will be growing into the light, my question is i have been trimming the big fan leaves for a few weeks now to get as much light to the bud sites as possible as i have 7 plants in a 1.2 x 1.2 tent, i didnt realise how big they would get and isnt much room in there now. Should i cut off the really small buds at the lower part of the plant where no light is getting to them in order for the energy to get to the bigger buds at the top where the light is? i cannot put anymore lights in so this is out of the question.

Some pics attached

Thanks

Hmm, well I have in the past been on the mindset that you might as well leave the bottom buds on. Lately, I have been debating trying some lollipopping to get more actual "desirable"(looking, anyway) buds and less popcorn/BHO nuggs. I'll probably do a side by side test soon, as thats the only way I can convince my own stubborn ass of anything. BUT, what I can say to your situation is that I think that at 4 weeks you are a bit to far into flowering to do any bud trimming that will actually increase your yield on the other buds. I would just let it go as is and maybe try it the next time around at week 2 or so.

Stop taking leaves... If your plant doesn't want the leaf, or you just are not getting light through the canopy, than maybe take a leaf or two, but you'd be better off folding them back. STOP TAKING YOUR PLANTS ABILITY TO PHOTOSYNTHESIZE!

As far as the lower branches go... I sometimes take the bottom two off. I usually cut clones of them before flowering. Your choice.

Good luck.8)

I agree with Southerner, I debated the same thing at 3-4 weeks and decided not to risk stressing them and possibly causing a hermie situation. There are varying opinions on how stressful it really is though.

Next time start trimming the lower branches a week or two before flower and then do a more minor trimming again when they are maybe a week into flower. JMO, and what I plan to do next time. Good luck!

Edit: I missed that you were trimming fan leaves, I agree do not trim them! They provide much needed energy/photosynthesis to the plant and are a backup store of nutrients.
When you are maybe a week from harvest you can consider taking some off but not before IMO.

BTW... Your plants look pretty good, friend. Nice color. There's no need to do much of anything to them from where I'm sitting.

I always just left the popcorn. It might have impacted the main harvests yields, but I just saw it as swings and riundabiuts. Just viewed it as some bulk to throw into the hash bucket :-)

During flower you really shouldnt do much or any pruning other then maybe dead or dying leaves. Especially the larger fans they make the yeild and feed the plant for potency.

Here's a hint for the professor: As an RIU newby, 48 hours or less, you need to understand that typing in ALL CAPS, or Bolding your comments, or increasing Font Size does not establish credibility.

Just sayin'

Been on this site since 2009. Just started a new profile because some faggot told on me and got me locked up for three fuckin years. I was a Mr.Ganja with many Grow Journals before I killed the old profile.
I'll type as BIG and BOLD as I want because... ... Well, because I can.
Dont like it? Eat a dick.

Search my posts for bad advice. If you find me telling someone something wrong, than say something to me. I'm here to help these brothers who may not know as much as I do. Worry more about that and less about me, homey. I'm all good.8)

You do realise that people often ignore posts in big bold because the consider the poster just to be a dick. Just saying ;-) I never saw Mr ganja post all his posts in bold and such, so why now? Is it because you think you're now perceived as a nobody, so bold will show people you're not? Fail. Its psychology, bold and caps and such come off as forceful, noons pays that kind of thing any attention. So if your posts are really full of such good information, post in a manner that people will respect.
