Just got the Zephyr delivered today - loaded it up with a bowl or two and am now definitely satisfied. I was skeptical for awhile, but saw a damn good offer so I laid out all out on the line seeing as I've only seen one good report thus far about it. I've owned a volcano for 5 years now, so I'm going to unconsciously compare the Zephyr to that periodically...
Here's a few things I that particularly impressed or disappointed me.
Negatives:
-a bit of leakage at the valve connection(a bit more than say the old volcano would emit... sorry to compare, but I have both is all)
-changing bags is a bit fiddly..
-the machine is assembled in China, however they apparently do not outsource the work to any other companies... a little cloudy on that one still though.
-the LED display stays lit red when off Might annoy some folks at night... then again it could be a nite lite haha.
Positives:
-quick heat start.. I'd say to 365 in 2-3 minutes.
-display is a nice touch, is blinking red when heating up and turns solid green when desired temp. is reached
-bag and valve design is extremely simple and easy to use (it hits like a volcano, just a little different 'open and close' function on the valve - you control it with your finger instead of your mouth)
-automatic safety shut-off feature (the default shut-off time is 1 hour)
-herb chamber is also really easy to use. I like the bowl size myself, some folks have said it looks too large... fits about .1 to .7 maybe.
-2 year manufacture warranty
Alright well that's just a brief report, I thought atleast one of ya might like to hear it.
peace
