Yields seem low

Hey folks,

I am new here, so please let me know if this is would be a better post in a different forum.

I just finished a run of a Dolato plant, and I am pretty disappointed with the yield I was able to get. I'm wondering if anyone here can suggest reasons why my yield may have been so low, and what I could do to help get it up.

I grew the plant in a 3 gal smart pot using Happy Frog soil and Roots Organics Buddha Bloom flowering nutrients under a 315w CMH. The buds themselves were pretty dense, but just never seemed to put a lot of weight on. I had the plant trained throughout its lifecycle, so I'm wondering if maybe I had it trained to hard?

I also included a picture of the plant shortly before she went into the dark phase. It's the plant circled in red in the picture attached.

Happy to answer any qualifying questions you folks may have - halp!

What do u mean in dark phase?

That plant is no where near ready to harvest
"Dark phase" being the 24 hours of dark before cutting her down. I agree that she was definitely undersized - this was 9 weeks into flower though, so it should have been ready for harvest at that point.

I'm thinking that the issue I may be having is due to me overwatering in veg. I took a look at the root systems after I chopped these down, and they were not that extensive. Pretty sure that was also due to over watering in veg. I'm also planning to switch my veg and flower lights - moving a mars hydro 1000w to my flower and my 315w CMH to veg.
