I have never worked with a pheno like that. In my experience the pistils will shrink back into/towards the bud and not be standing up and out. My gut says wait and my real self says I don't know.

Curious, do the pistils shrink into the bud or does the bud swell and absorb the pistil?

thanks to anyone who can answer this.

.

The hairs kinda lay down against the flower. They don't get sucked into it, if that answers your question. There are varieties where the hairs never change in color.

The best way to tell, as everyone here has suggested, look at the trichomes on the calyx. I look at both interior/exterior flower sites. I use a 60x loupe and am only using it because I am not able to see the plant changes with the naked eye yet. Most people here are able to tell when the plant is ready by just observing with the naked eye. I'm gonna need a few more rounds before I no longer need the loupe. Hope I was helpful.
