 help me! heehee

I have this recurring problem with a bunch of my plants.... so I cant really give you exact accurate data and sorry to say no picture at the moment but here's the info...

I feed my plants about 16 oz of water every 5 days under a 100ow lamp... the lamp is fairly new.. so i dunno if the problem will persist or if it was something else.. but anyway
everytime my plants get to budding in the later stages before harvest the tips of the leaves surrounding the buds turn yellow.. and not for nothing.. the smoke is still great and all.. but it doesnt LOOK pretty.. and.. if i ever wish to MAKE something of this someday... you know what i'm getting at?

any help knowledge/tips are appreciated

just a little FYI to those interested... i have been putting together spread sheets on my watering/feeding habits and different heights/growth rates and things with different plants for best growing results.. I hope to get it all orgamized and posted up soon for sharing. :)

theyre supposed to do that...that lets you know your ready, because your plants are using up their last bit of nutes stored in their leaves, killing themselves for your harvest more or less lol..nuttin to worry bout at all! keep up the good work!

naw it shouldnt...long as u get the high your wantin...ive seen buds all shapes, sizes, and colors from orange to purple to almost a blu-ish color...how far into flower does this start? like right before harvest?

yes pretty much right before harvest... i admit i'm very unorganized when it comes to harvest... just not sure when the right time is exactly... it's been guesswork thus far, for that perfect high - i'm looking more for like.. heady and energizing.. not paralyzing... the longer i wait, the more paralyzing it seems to become... lol

yea, go to radio shack, they have a 60x-100x lighted microscope for like 12 bucks, will def come in handy to find that perfect time to harvest...let less than a 1/3rd of the trichomes to become amber before harvesting...or, when about 1/3rd of the pistils have wilted and turned brown, they trichs should all at least be cloudy, n ud prolly be arite then...im not much on the couchlock effect myself lol i like to wana do shit while im smokin at least

why not just do a stagger harvest? as soon as u feel one MIGHT be ready, go head n chop it down (or just snip a bud or 2 even), and just every 4 or 5 days after, do the same to another and repeat...just make sure u keep all the samples labeled or stored as to be able to tell when they were cut....also, was gunna ask, im preppin for my first harvest n was wonderin, do u prune the fan leaflets around the buds after cuttin it down an before hangin, while theyre stickin out and fresh, or do u let them dry around the buds then cut em off? also heard that if u fridge the plants after theyre taken down overnite that when u wake up they look twice as frosty..u or anyone u kno had experience w/these?
