Hey there, I basically have no idea what I'm doing.
I have 2x plants that sprouted on March 3rd. Indoor 4.5x2.x8 space, 40-50% RH, 6" fan blowing on them, 4in exhaust. Temps with lights on = 76-78F. Temps with lights off = 69-71F. They were planted in solo cups using FFOF with 20% perlite added and a 1/4" of perlite at the bottom with holes drilled. They are under x2 QB96's starting off around 30-100watts, now they are at 240watts. Starting out they were watered with my 400ppm tap water, and after a watering or two were switched to RO water. All my water pH has been adjusted to this point to 6.3-6.6 with the use of pH Down. It only takes only a few drops to get my water to that level. Basically it looks like I haven't even used any out of the bottle yet. I've been testing this with a kind of cheap amazon meter.
On the 17/18th I noticed some weird spots on the leaves. Then every day the older leaves / lower growth very slowly started to turn yellow.
On the 23/24th I transferred them from the solo cups to 5 gallon fabric pots with the same mix in them. FFOF, 20% Perlite, 1/4" Perlite on the bottom. I was hoping that transferring them would show a little improvement. They continue to just get more and more yellow everyday. When they went into the 5 gallons they were watered with 800mL of RO water with 1mL of CalMag+ added.
On the 25th, I sprayed them a little with 0.5mL of CalMag+ added to 450mL of RO water in a spray bottle.
Finally on the 28th (last night) I gave them their first good full watering to get some runoff to test. Both plants got about 5000mL split between them ( almost a 1 1/2 gallons) with a 6mL of CalMag+ added. The run off came out quite yellow and at about 5.4 pH. I added about 1000mL of 7.0 pHed water split between them and got a little more runoff at 5.5 pH. After a few hours I then started a little LST. I wanted to top them but really don't want to stress them out.
I guess I would like some idea to what my issues are? Is my soil to acidic? Do these things honestly need some N when people talk about how hot FFOF is? It's hasn't been 30 days yet. Is this some kind of lockout from my soil and I need Magnesium? Do I need to add like some lime to my soil? Here are pictures from the 18th, 25th, and 28th...I can get newer / pics from like right now too if you want, but basically the yellowing is creeping up on the next set of oldest leaves. So for the count of yellowed leaves now, that is the starter leaves and now working on the 3rd set up from the bottom, the 2 sets below that are 100% goners.
Thanks Folks.
